Chapter 17:

/Violetta/

Violetta paces her lounge as she waits for Fran to show up. She has to talk to someone. She needs her friend's advice because she hasn't gotten over the fact that she's still in love with Leon.

It took her almost two and a half years to figure it out, but now she knows for sure. She truly loves Leon. She loves him more than she realized. She still feels the same way she did back when she was only sixteen and young in love. Leon makes her feels like there are endless possibilities and she's ready to start fresh... hopefully.

A knock at her door has her scrambling over to it, quickly pulling it open to reveal Francesca.

"You said it was an emergency!" Fran pants, looking like she ran all the way here.

"It is. I have something important to tell you." She closes the door and hauls Fran over to the couch, sitting down with her. "I came to a huge realization. Like really huge." Fran nods and waits for her to continue. "Working with Leon has made me see something. As obvious as it probably was, I only came to terms with it now... I still love Leon." Her confession has Fran's jaw dropping. She quickly recovers though, moving in closer to hug her friend who seems very distressed at the moment.

"What about Tomas?"

"We broke up." Vilu admits sheepishly.

"I'm only finding out about this now!?" Violetta nods and Fran can only sigh as she once again brings her friend closer. "Alright, so what exactly made you realize you still love him?" Violetta takes a moment to beg the question: when did she realize she was still head over heels for Leon?

For the life of her, she cannot pin point it. Maybe it was when she first saw him again. Or maybe it was when she let him in again. She has no idea actually. Yet, she can finally admit that even after all this time, Leon is still the one.

But how does Leon feel? For all Violetta knows, he's over her forever. Their break up really did a number on both of them and she knows it. Leon has probably moved on by now, he probably has his sight set on dozens of other girls who won't break his heart when the first sign of trouble occurs. The thought has Vilu tearing up, dropping her head onto Francesca's shoulder.

"I don't know. What I do know is that I want him back. I want him to be mine again, and it's ridiculously selfish, but it's all I want. But I can't have him." A sob leaves her lips, sadness taking its toll for a second time. Fran hugs her close, comforting her best friend in her time of need.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because it's been two years Fran. Two years for him to get over me and he most likely has. Time has given him the time to heal and he has. Leon doesn't love me anymore."

"Doesn't love you anymore? Vilu you are seriously oblivious. He adores you. I can see it in his eyes." She tilts Vilu's eyes toward her so she can see the sincerity in them as she tells her friend what she's noticed in the last few months. "He treats you like you're some kind of precious gem. From the little things like making sure you have a water bottle nearby or asking the director to extend the break because you're really struggling that day. To the bigger things like talking directly to you to see that you're okay and respecting you when you tell him to give you space. He takes care of you without a second thought. I can see it Violetta. I can see how much you still mean to him." Vilu has calmed down now, small smile on her lips.

"Really?"

It's been a few days since Violetta and Tomas broke up and Leon is having a hard time reeling it in. He just can't believe that Violetta is newly single. She no longer has anyone to kiss her or hug her after a long day's work. She doesn't have someone to shower her with compliments and gifts of all kinds. She doesn't have a boyfriend to love her in that special way only a lover can.

Leon finds himself wanting to be that. He wants Violetta to be his again. To be able to give here everything she needs and deserves. Leon loves her, hasn't given up on the hope that maybe one day she could love him back. It seems that day could come sooner than he expected. And he's not entirely sure he's ready for that.

Don't get him wrong, he wants to be with her for as long as she'll have him. It's just the fact that it has only been a few days and he's not sure how long he'll have to wait for it to happen. He's determined to give her the space she needs, but it will be hard not to give in to his own desires and ask her to be his again.

Would it be too soon, if he were to ask her tomorrow? Or even the day after? Is he crossing the line too quickly? He never understood the protocol. How long would it be before he can make Violetta his again? He hopes it's not long.

As much as he wants to be together again, he might have to distance himself, for a while at least. Until Violetta figures it out. He can't keep getting his hopes up every time she comes by the dressing room to call him for a scene or practice a line. It's overwhelming how he can so easily get his hopes up when he sees her beautiful face.

Reality is that no matter what he's going to have to be patient. Love takes time and Leon has to make sure Violetta can handle another relationship before they become something. Rushing into things will only result in disaster. Only time will tell when Leon and Violetta can be with each other again.
