Baby I Loved You First- Leonetta

Chapter 4:

|Flashback|

It was a few days later that she meets him. Violetta was let out of her last class early so she was the first one in the room on that fine Friday afternoon. She sat on the stage as she waited for her friends.

A few moments later, a boy strolled in, completely oblivious to Violetta at first. But when he looked up, Violetta's attention was caught. He had longer hair then, the tips just reaching his back. His eyes caught Violetta's and he stopped in his tracks. He studied her for a moment, wondering who this girl was. He'd never seen her before.

"Are you new?" He asks, finally taking the initiative of approaching her. Violetta stutters for a moment before she's spitting out an answer.

"Uh yeah um yeah I'm new. I went to Lundris for freshman year. My name's Violetta." Leon nods, taking a seat next to her.

"Well you'll like it here. And you must be new to theatre as well." She nods. "Well you'll like the club too. It can get crazy, but hey it's always fun. I'm Leon by the way." He sticks his hand out for her to shake. She takes it and gasps at the tingly feeling that runs through her hand. Leon notices, but doesn't have the chance to comment because his friends are pilling in and asking him about his day. Violetta is then whisked away by her own friends and that's the end of that conversation.

Violetta can't be serious. She can't be saying she doesn't want to do the movie. This was going to be his chance. His chance to talk to her again, but now here she is telling him she doesn't want to do the movie.

"I'm sorry?" The producers ask, concern and worry evident in their voices. Leon is just as worried. If Violetta leaves, he'll never see her again. He needs her to take the job. He needs her to stay.

"I just can't do this movie. It's nothing against you or the director. I just have some personal problems with..." She trails off, but her eyes are staring into Leon's. The producers notice and turn to Leon.

"Are you able to work with Mrs. Castillo?" His producer asks. In all honesty, Leon should have expected this. He knows that there's still things left unspoken and he was hoping Violetta could overlook it. It seems she wants to quit all together because of it.

"I am, but I understand if Violetta doesn't want to work with me. You could get someone else." He suggests, but his producer is already neglecting the idea.

"Oh but Mr. Vargas, you have to do the roll. The director asked for you specifically. Please, Mrs. Castillo is there any way you can look past this. I know it's a lot to ask for, but the director really loves the idea of you two working on this together." Violetta looks about ready to protest, but Francesca is quick to jump in.

"Could you hold on just a second?" She leads Violetta away and it reminds Leon of two years ago when the same thing happened before his eyes. He almost doesn't want to let her leave, but he knows he's going to have to let them talk in order for anything to be done.

Francesca guides Violetta away from the little crowd. She turns the corner and then presses Violetta into the wall, making sure she stays in place for the lecture that's sure to come.

"You are not backing out of this. You told me you were interested and now, just because of Leon, you're going to throw this opportunity away." She whisper shouts. Violetta can only nod sheepishly. She realizes she's being childish at the moment, but right now she just wants to get away. Seeing Leon has made her think irrationally.

"I know that this is a perfect opportunity to branch out, but I can't work with Leon and you know that." She emphasizes.

"It's been two years; surely you can at least suck it up enough to work with him." Violetta scowls, but sighs knowing that she can at least do that.

"Even if it's been two years, there's still a lot that went unsaid. I can say I'm okay, but you and I both know that the relationship I had with Leon really changed me."

"Yeah you changed, but you changed for the better. You're stronger now and you can handle working with Leon. It'll only be for a few months."

"Yeah, but it's a romance movie, eventually we'll have to kiss."

"We'll we deal with that when the time comes." Francesca assures. Violetta can only sigh.

"I guess." Francesca squeals, happy to know that Violetta is going to go through with it.

"Now come on, let's go tell them you're staying." She leads them back to the group who are chatting animatedly as they wait. Leon is the first to look up at her and she tries not to let her eyes lingers.

"We're staying." Francesca announces and the producers let out a breath in relief. It seems that step one is finished. Now it's time for the actual movie to be filmed and Violetta isn't sure if she's ready for that.
