Chapter 17 - So Long and Goodnight
"You called Travis?" Frank asked me, dropping onto our sofa with a bag of skittles in his hand.
"Yeah, I figured if anyone would know what to do, it'd be him," I told Frank.
"I don't know how he can handle them if I'm honest," Frank said, offering me skittles. "This week has been torture!"
"I know, he's like a miracle worker." I said, taking some skittles.
He wasn't wrong when he said this week was torture. It had only been a couple of days since everything happened, but now was the only time I could tell him that I'd called Travis, because it's the only time Cody hasn't been hanging around us like a bat. An extremely irritating one.
"T, are you alright?" Frank asked me, pulling me away from my thoughts.
"Yeah, it just sucks that we're stuck here on a Friday night waiting for Melanie and Cody to come back from grocery shopping."
"I know, I don't know why they're shopping. We probably wouldn't eat it through fear that she might poison us." Frank said, making us both laugh.
"But seriously," he carried on, "It's not like we're stuck stuck. We can go out. It's not like we haven't already stepped in it."
"True, but I don't feel like fighting with them tonight. This week has been exhausting enough without making it even worse," I told him.
"Good point."
We sat eating skittles in silence for a while, since neither of us really knew what to say.
Thankfully it didn't last for long, as my ringtone cut through the silence.
Frank started laughing, "Is that really your ringtone? The Despicable Me minions singing the banana song?"
"Hey! Leave the minions alone!"
"Are you enjoying listening to it? Why don't you answer it?" Frank asked, attempting to choke back his laughter.
"I don't know where it's coming from," I said, getting up to see if I can find the source of minions. "Melanie hasn't given me it back yet.
"I don't think she's planning on it T," Frank stood up next to me, "Let's find it."
We spent the next ten minutes following the sound of the minions singing, which was actually quite fun considering Frank was crawling round on his hands and knees, trying and failing to 'be a minion', so he could find the others like him easier. I was just glad that whoever it was calling really wanted to get a hold of me.
"Found it!" I yelled, when I opened a drawer in the cabinet next to the TV and the minion's singing blasted out even louder than before.
I picked it up and seeing Gee's name on the Caller ID made me cut of the minions and Frank's attempt of creating a 'minion dance'. "Hello?" I said, laughing at Frank's sulking face.
"Hey Terra," Gee answered, "What's so funny?"
"Frank sulking because I turned off the minions singing," I said, making Gerard laugh. "Anyway, how did you know I'd pick up? You saw Melanie take my phone," I asked him.
