Chapter 22

2 days later

I got a game in basketball and I have one tomorrow in football. I'm feeling stressed out.

"Baby girl. Calm down." Jay said grabbing my hand.

"I'm missing football practice and I'm missing basketball practice. Two sports. Grades. Family. Friends. Boyfriend." I said.

"You'll be fine. You gotta go on now. With your team." Jay said and the coach nodded as my team started leaving.

"Bye." I said.

"I'll be in the crowd baby girl." Jay said and I nodded.

Basketball. Alright I've been playing long enough.

"You ready?" Referee asked.

"Yeah." Both of us captains said.

He threw the ball up and I jumped and caught it. Hops like the bunny. I got it.

I passed it to Audrey. She passed it to Sam. Sam passed it back to me. How does it always end up getting back to me?!

I sighed and shit this captain is tall. A good 5 inches taller. Why is everyone taller than me?!

I go in for a dunk and damn I jump higher then I ever have before. I dunked on her with my right hand.

She fell on the floor and I felt kinda bad. I felt my eyes turn light purple.

Her other teammate helped her up and they quickly ran to the other side glaring at me.

One of the captains other teammate took a shot but I blocked it.

"Fowl." She said.

"Wait what? Oh hell no. I played defense. I don't even want to touch you anyways so how the hell would I fowl?!" I yelled making the crowd laugh.

They replayed the play for that girl who I couldn't take defense. They decided it was no fowl.

"Cheater." She mumbled.

I glared at her.

The referee threw me the ball and I passed it to Lucy. She took a three and it went in making her smile. I saw my
Parents and siblings. Aww fuck. Now I feel pressure. The other team gets in a three making it 5-3.

But I get the rebound and hit a full court that goes in with a swish. Shit how did I do that?!

"How'd you do that?" Audrey asked.

I shrugged but the captain tried to pass the ball but I caught it making it a turn over.

I run down the court ready to score but the captain puts her whole arm on my body and pushes me back making me fall back. The referee blew the whistle as Audrey helped me up.

"But I was playing defense." The captain used my line.

"Bitch I'm going to show you what the hell defense is."'I said clenching my fists.

"Hey Alexa don't do it." Audrey said grabbing me.

I nodded and glared at her. The referee calls a fowl and I get to take a free throw. Two actually.

I sigh as I'm given the ball. I bounce it a few times and see everyone staring at me. Can you not do that?! I take the first shot and it goes in.

I high five my team as I get the ball again to shoot. It goes in again.

The captain gets the rebound. Aww shit.

We win the game and my team and I are celebrating like crazy.

"You guys did a great job." Coach said. Right after that our food arrived at our table. Some pizza.

"Yes." Audrey said smiling at the cheese pizza. There was pepperoni as well.

I think I'm ready for another game but I'm scared.
