I woke up to Jay stroking my hair.
"Jay you should be sleeping." I whispered.
"I was watching out for you." Jay said.
I smiled and rolled my eyes.
"Only you Jay." I said chuckling. He smiled and took out two pairs of customized Nike shoes. One said Alexa on both sides of them. Another said Jay on both sides of them.
"Jay. This costs money. Are you crazy?" I asked.
"Well about you yes." Jay said.
"Jay I can't take it." I said.
"I'm sorry. I was a jerk and I assumed. I wanted to apologize." Jay said.
"Jay you didn't have to you could've just said you were sorry kissed me then held me close. That works like almost every time." I said.
Jay chuckled.
"I know but I still did it. Here." He said. He gave me the one that said Jay. Since I always called him Jay.
I pecked his lips.
"Thanks." I said.
Dad walked downstairs and he didn't look happy to see Jayden.
"Alexa." Dad said. He already looked angry.
"He needed a place to stay. I promise nothing sexual." I said.
"What is with you and your sister just ignoring me? When I tell you to stay away from him I mean stay away from him!" Dad yelled.
"He got hurt. I have a soft spot for him." I said low.
"He got hurt? You have a soft spot for him! Keep the damn soft spot but don't cry to me when he hurts you!" Dad yelled.
"I didn't mean to hurt her. I thought she cheated." Jayden said.
"So you thought my daughter was a cheater? My muffin is a cheater. Huh?" Dad asked.
"Well I saw a picture of her kissing a guy but it was fake." Jayden said.
"Yeah it was fake. And you know what else is fake? Your love for my daughter." Dad said.
"No it's not. I just have doubts sometimes." Jayden snapped.
"Don't snap at me." Dad said.
"Well I'm not just gonna let you sit here and accuse me of not loving your daughter." Jayden said.
"Well I wouldn't accuse you if it wasn't true." Dad said.
"Then you shouldn't be accusing me because it isn't true that I have fake love for her." Jayden snapped.
"Huh uh." Dad said not believing him.
"Alexa you are so gullible. I don't know where you get it from." Dad said.
"Shut up Dad! When you hit Mom she still had a soft spot for you. She still loved you. She still stayed with you! Even with your temper! Now I do it and it's an issue. What if I love Jay?" I asked.
"You don't know anything about love." Dad said.
"No correction. You don't know anything about love. I told you I loved Jay and he said he needed a place to stay for the night and that's what I gave him. You know why Dad? Because I love him." I said.
"Go back to him." Dad said.
"Mom went back to you!" I snapped.
"Fine. I love you." Dad said. He tried to hug me but I pushed him.
