Lindsey's Point of View ~

My world was falling apart. That drunk guy was a murderer. Maya was dead now and I didn't know what to do. I called the police to start, but nothing was going to bring back Maya. I hid in the bathtub, so I didn't have to look at her on the blood stained tile floor. The police burst through the door and I heard the drunk guy yelling. I was in shock and I started to shake. A police officer picked me up in his arms and took me outside. He sat me on the edge of the ambulance and a paramedic came running over to us. They put a breathing mask on my face.

"It's going to be alright. You're just in shock. This will help you control your breathing." The lady paramedic told me, but everything was blocked out. I started to shake violently and I felt like I was going to pass out. My vision went blurry and before I knew it, I was going down the road in the ambulance really fast.

I was still shaking, but not as bad. I was in a white hospital room that smelled like disinfectant wipes and terrible tasting medicine. There was an IV in my arm. A nurse came to check on me. She saw that I was still shaking and put the breathing mask on me again.

"I'm...really hot." I told her and wiped away the sweat from above my brow. She took the blankets off me and misted my face with cool water. It felt so good and I started to feel better.

My parents came and visited me for the next day and a half, then I went back home with them in the afternoon of my second day in the hospital. I was back to normal, but I still felt terrible. Maya was gone and no one was close to finding Chloe or so I thought.

"Honey?" My mom knocked on my door. I was taking a nap in my bedroom after my long ordeal at the hospital.

"Yeah, mom...come in." I rubbed my eyes and sat up. My mom sat at the end of my bed with purple sheets and white pillows. She had a sad and worried facial expression.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"Someone did see Chloe, but he was knocked out by her mom and disappeared again. They were spotted at the Walmart, a few towns over. In some little town I think." I gasped.

"Really!" I smiled, but I knew that Chloe still wouldn't be saved anytime soon. Her mom had got away with her in tow.

Things were just terrible.

So much for trying to find Chloe.
