Meeting My NEW Family

The Wilson's came to get me from the hospital. The papers had been filled out and they were officially my NEW family. Kaylee was sweet and kind and she wheeled me out in the wheelchair. My leg was still healing, but I looked ten times better.

Her mom's name was Liz, my NEW mom. I didn't call her mom yet though because I just wasn't used to it. Vivian and Sophia looked like twins to me.

"You'll be sharing a room with me!" Kaylee told me happily. I smiled and already knew that I liked this family. A lot. We got to their house and I noticed a temporary ramp that led up to the door. I heard a cow moo and pigs oink. I had always wanted to live on a farm and now I could. We went inside and I instantly felt at home. It smelled of lavender and chocolate chip cookies. I breathed in deeply. They took me down to Kaylee's room, which was down in the basement. The stairs inside also had a temporary ramp. Sophia, the youngest, slid down the ramp in front of me.

Kaylee's room had a bunk bed against the wall.

"The bottom one is for you, because I highly doubt you would be able to get to the top." She smiled and stopped my wheelchair in the middle of the room. The walls were painted a turquoise blue and the curtains were a few shades darker.

"It's so pretty!" I squealed. I felt happy for once in a really long time. I forgot about the beatings and the suicide attempt. I forgot about what happened in the hospital and my mom going insane.

I finally felt at home.
