HANNA'S POV

"Harry!!" I called through the house. It was 8:00 AM on the morning of Christmas Eve and I had already been up for an hour getting the house ready for Mum and John's arrival. I was currently trying to hang up some lights along the banister. I needed someone to cut and hand me tape because I couldn't let go of the string without them all falling down.

"What?" I heard him grumble from his room.

"I need your help. Get your lazy ass out of bed." I barked.

"I'm not lazy. You're just an early bird." He snapped.

"Just get out here and help me!" I ordered. I turned when I heard shuffling across the wood floors and I nearly dropped the string of lights over the banister. I tried to control my heart rate as he walked towards me wearing nothing but boxers. His hair was still disheveled and he was wiping his eyes trying to adjust to the light streaming through the windows. When his eyes finally opened all the way he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at me wide-eyed.

"What?" I questioned. He didn't answer but instead raisted his eyebrows. I looked around and then realized what exactly this looked like. I was wearing tight leggings and bending forward over the banister. He was staring at my ass.

"Harry stop staring at my ass and cut me some tape please." I said, running out of patience.

"I want everything to be perfect for when mum and John got home." I told him as he cut the tape.

"Oh yeah, that's today. Happy Christmas Eve by the way. You know last time we decorated the house for Dad and Maria to come home, you ended up with a thumb tack in your foot." He laughed.

"Yes, I remember that. Tape please." He handed me another piece of tape and we moved down the line. Just as we finished with the lights we heard Harry's phone ring. He ran back into his room to grab it.

"It's Dad." He said as he walked back out.

"Hey Dad!...Yeah you too...Yeah we can't wait for you guys to get home. Hanna's been--...Oh....Oh of course. We understand...I'll tell her...Okay I'll let you go... I will...Bye." He hung up the phone and let out a deep sigh.

"What's wrong?" I asked, instantly knowing by the look in his eye that something was up.

"Well, erm... There has been a change of plans." He began.

"What do you mean?"

"Hanna, I'm really sorry to say this but, Maria and Dad aren't going to be home in time for Christmas." He confessed.

"What?! Why?" I questioned.

"Apparently there's a huge snowstorm headed towards the airport they would be landing in, so they aren't letting the plane take off until it's passed."

"It's barely snowing though!" I screamed.

"But not for long. They say by nine tonight the roads will be completely iced over." He informed me. I took quick breathes to try and keep my tears from falling.

"Hanna, are you okay?" He reached out to try and touch my face but I shied away from him.

"I'm fine. I'm just going to go to my room for a few minutes. I'll be out later." Without looking at him, I turned and ran towards my room. As soon as the door shut I let the tears flow. I felt so stupid for crying. Here I was living in this beautiful house, with Harry might I add, and I was crying over something that was completely out of my control when other people had real problems to deal with. I sat there for about ten minutes with my head buried into my pillow, I jumped as I felt a hand on my shoulder. I whipped around to see Harry standing there.

"Harry, what are you doing? I told you I would be out in a minute." I grumbled as I wiped my face. Instead of answering me he sat down next to me and pulled me into one of the hugs I had come to love.

"Why are you crying?" He asked softly.

"It's going to sound really stupid." I warned.

"Try me." He challenged.

"Well, I guess after all the years of Christmas just being with my mom and me... I guess I was just really excited about spending Christmas as a family." I confessed.

"Hanna, that's not stupid at all. In fact I kind of understand how you feel."

"You do?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Yeah. And I guess now that's why we got to stick together." He said, changing the full hug to a one arm hug.

"Why don't you stay here, and then I'll go make us some breakfast and we can both eat it up here? How does that sound?" I nodded and he released me from his hug. He left my room and I didn't wake up again until my room was permeated with the smell of sausage and egg tacos.

Right as we finished eating, we heard the doorbell ring downstairs.

"Who's that?" I asked Harry. He shrugged but I could see a smirk plastered on his face. I gave him a questioning look but none the less ran downstairs to get the door. When I opened it, I was immediately trampled by a line of people trying to escape the freezing cold.

"It took you long enough babe!" Louis joked as he gave me a kiss on the cheek when he passed me.

"What are you all doing here?!" I exclaimed.

"We'll Harry called and said that you guys were going to be alone today and asked us if we all wanted to come over and having a baking/decorating party!" Natalia informed me.

"Yeah, even though I know shit about baking, I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to eat some Christmas cookies." Josh admitted.

"Well in that case, maybe we should get started!" I suggested. A chorus of 'whoohoos' boomed through the no longer empty house.

Everyone was there. Louis had spread the word to all of our friends so that there were plenty of people. Niall invited Fernanda and I got to know her a little better through the day. She loved volleyball and music which we bonded over. She was super nice and I'm glad that her and Niall were together because he deserved someone as sweet as her.

Allie and Liam were working on cutting out the cookie dough, Natalia and Zayn had to be scolded several times because while they made the icing, they kept putting it on each other's noses and being all cute and shit. Sarah, Josh, Tianna, and Dan had taken the liberty of putting up strings of random Christmas decorations around the house and outside. Louis and Reagan were just walking around tasting everything because we all knew that if either of them touched the food that it would somehow end up being ruined. As for Harry and I, we were preparing an array of pies for everyone to eat and take home. I had to convince him it would be a good idea to add chocolate to the pecan pies, and he had to convince me that putting fresh apples in the apple pie would be better than buying the filling from the can. By the time everything was done, it was about five in the afternoon. We let all the treats cool and then cleaned up the kitchen except for the ingredients we needed to make dinner. The girls collaboratively made chicken and pasta for everyone and when it was done we all sat down in the dining room.

"Before we eat, can I say something?" I requested. Everyone nodded for me to continue.

"I just wanted to say, thank you. To all of you. Every single on of you has been nothing but kind to me since I moved here, or in Reagan's case, before I moved here. Even when I was going through the craziest of shit you all were there for me. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I couldn't have asked for better friends than the lot of you. Happy Christmas Eve."

"Happy Christmas Eve!" They chorused. We clinked our glasses and then began eating our feast. It was then I realized that tonight, I was in fact, celebrating Christmas with my family.

When we were done eating, Harry and I wrapped up some deserts for everone to take home since that amount we made would last us until next Christmas.

"Be careful on the roads everyone. That snow storm is supposed to hit in a couple of hours." Harry warned our friends.

"We'll be safe mate, don't worry." Liam reassured. I gave everyone hugs as the walked out the door to their cars. Harry and I stayed in the doorway untill the last car had driven away before closing the door and walking away.

"It's really starting to come down hard out there." I observed. "I hope they all get home alright."

"I'm sure they will be fine. Ever since Niall and Liam, everyone has been extra careful." Harry told me. I was glad to hear that. I don't know if I could handle if something like that happened to Reagan or any of the others. Harry and I went into the kitchen to wash the last of the dishes before going to rest. Just as we were drying the last plate, we were plunged into darkness.

"Harry?!" I yelled panicking even though I knew he was only a couple feet away from me. I heard the sound of a dish breaking and jumped back bumping into somebody, presumably Harry.

"Hanna relax, I just knocked over a plate. I don't know where the glass went though... Do you have shoes on?" He asked. I shook my head but then realizing he couldn't see it, verbally said, "No, just socks." I heard him sigh and then suddenly I was being lifted off the ground.

"Harry stop what are you doing?!" I exclaimed. I heard the crunching of the cheap glass underneat his shoes as we walked across the kitchen and realized that if I had tried to make my way across the kitchen, I would've ended up getting cut. He walked over to where he knew the couch was, and set me down.

"I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some candles and a flashlight."

I mumbled an "okay" and sat there in the dark waiting for him to come back. Some of my tension was relieved when I heard him trip over something and swear. I couldn't help but laugh.

"It's not funny." I heard him grumble. I rolled my eyes even though I knew there was no way he could see it. He soon came back with a flashlight to guide him. He had me hold it up while he lit four mismatched candles and set them on their stands. He set the matches in a cup of water and then leaned back in the couch next to me.

"Now what?" I asked.

"Now... We wait I guess." He shrugged. I sighed an searched around for a blanket. All I could find was a thin one but I used it regardless.

"Are you cold?" Harry asked me.

"A little." I answered honestly.

"Here, come with me to the hall closet. I know there are good, warm blankets in there." He grabbed my hand without waiting for a response and took the flashlight to lead us down the hall. We successfully retrieved the blanket and were making our way back to the couch, when I tripped on a pillow that was on the floor and fell flat on my face."

"Fuck!" I cursed as I hit the ground. I heard Harry laughing at my misfortune and smacked his shin.

"What? This is payback for laughing at me when I tripped." He defended. Touché. I held out my hand for him to help me up. He grabbed it and pulled it with a little too much force, sending me flying straight into him and causing him to take a couple of steps under the doorway.

"Whoa, sorry. You okay?" I apologized.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Just as he usually did when we would accidentally get close, he wouldn't let me go. He held me close to his chest and looked up. I followed his gaze and looked to see mistletoe right above our heads.

"You have got to be kidding." I chuckled.

"Liam..." I heard Harry mumble.

"Well Hanna, you know the rules. Now you have to kiss me." He smirked.

"I don't think so Haz." I tried pulling away, but I just bounced right back into his chest.

"Please." He pleaded. Something about the situation, something about the lighting, something about the begging look in his eye, made me lean in and gently press my lips to his. I should've known that wouldn't be enough for either of us. Harry put his hand on the back of my neck, keeping me close as my hands fisted the curls in his hair. I felt his teeth bite my lip and ask for entrance which I immediately gave him. It felt even better than that first night we had kissed on the stairs. I had waited for this for so long. But just like the night on the stairs, I knew this winter wonderland of mine had to end as we regrettably pulled away from each other.

"Happy Christmas Haz."
