HANNA'S POV
When we got back to the flat, Jack told us to go change and he would set up a couple cups of tea for us. I led Harry to Jack's room and pulled out a pair of sweats and one of Jack's faded Marine shirts that had semper fi written on it. He had two older brothers and a sister that had served and he had finally made the decision this summer to sign up for the fall.
"You can change either in here or in the bathroom. It doesn't really matter." I told him, completely avoiding any eye contact.
"Thanks." I nodded and then went to my room to change. I peeled off my wet clothes and changed into a long sleeve tee shirt and sweats. I'm sure the weather would return to being blazing hot tomorrow, but for now the rain had made it could. I put my hair up into a soft bun at the top of my head and slipped on a pair of fuzzy socks before heading back out into the living room. Harry and Jack were both sitting on the couch talking, but stopped when I walked in.
"Harry, I'll take your wet clothes and run downstairs to put them in the dryer." I offered, holding out my hands to take his clothes.
"I'll do it Hanna, don't worry." Jack said. I glared at him and shook my head slightly but he just smiled and winked before taking both Harry and mine's clothes and walking out the door, leaving Harry and I alone. I hate Jack. He can forget about me paying him that twenty bucks I owed him.
"So, erm, Jack left your cuppa right here." Harry said motioning to the steaming cup of tea right in front of him.
"Oh, thanks." I reached over the table to grab it, then sat down next to him on the couch.
"So..."
"So..."
"How has touring been?" I asked him, attempting to make small talk until Jack came back.
"It's been a lot of fun actually. It's exhausting and long, and it's been hard being away from family for so long, but I have the boys and they're practicly already my family so it's not too bad."
Was he reading my mind and preying on my guilt-ridden thoughts??
"Oh, well that's good. It must be fun traveling the world."
"It is. You won't believe some of the places I've been. Actually there was this one place in Italy, the air was so crisp and the sun was shining without a cloud in the sky, but it wasn't terribly hot, just enough to keep you comfortable. It was amazing. You would've loved it." He was smiling and staring at no particular place, surely imagining the location.
"That sounds really cool." I mumbled, not really knowing what else to say.
"Your accent is different." He said randomly.
"What?"
"Your accent. It sounds more... I don't know, Southern."
"Well I would assume it probably would. I mean I've lived in the south now for the past three years." I said a little harshly. I don't know why I was being mean, he hadn't done anything. Thankfully, Jack chose that moment to return.
"Did you two kids find something to talk about?" He joked.
"Yup." I said standing up and moving to sit in a chair instead of the couch.
"So Harry, Hanna suggested something to me last night." Jack said.
"And what would that be?"
"Well she mentioned she missed the rest of the band and she wanted me to meet them and all that. So I was wondering if you and the guys would want to all come hang out tonight at our apartment. That is, if you're not busy."
"As a matter of fact, we're free! How about after my clothes are dry I'll go back and tell the lads? I'm sure they'd love to meet you and I know they're missing Hanna loads. What time do you want us over here?" He asked.
"How does seven sound?"
"Perfect. Should we bring anything?"
"No, we'll take care of everything."
"We will?" I asked.
"Well duh, have you ever hosted anything? People bring things if they like, but you never ask them to." Jack scolded.
"Oh, right." Sorry.
I just really hope seven can come soon so I can see the other boys.
*****************************************
"Hey Hanna, we just left. We should be there in five minutes."
"Okay! Can't wait!" I told Zayn through the phone.
"FIVE MINUTES!" I yelled through the apartment. I put out a set of plastic cups and poured another bag of chips into a bowl.
"Pizza should be here in twenty." Jack told me as he strolled through the kitchen, stealing a chip as he did.
"Hey! Paws off until they get here."
"Bite me." He sassed and then took another one.
"Asshole."
"I know."
Just as scheduled, five minutes later, the doorbell buzzed. I ran to the door and flung it open.
"HANNA!!"
"BOYS!!"
