HANNA'S POV

"Should I wear shorts or a sundress?" I asked Jack.

"Well it depends. What are you going for?"

"I don't know. Kind of like, I've moved on, I'm a new person and I'm not going to fall back into your hands like putty." Last night I had decided to tell Jack everything about my relationship with Harry. Like, everything. We had stayed up till three in the morning reliving the year before I had moved to Florida. He took it surprisingly well. He even made sarcastic 'I knew it all along' kind of comments throughout the story. That's why he's my best friend I guess. I missed Reagan though. I missed her a lot.

"In that case, go for shorts and that pink frilly top you bought a couple weeks ago." He suggested, rummaging through my closet until he found the shirt and held it out to me.

"Stylish, but it doesn't look like I care too much. Good choice Jack." I complimented him.

"I try. I'm the best you can do since Reagan is at work right now right?"

"Yeah. It's really good that she got a job though! I know she has been looking for one for a while." Reagan and I had both decided to major in dance for college. I obviously couldn't cut all ties with Reagan. In fact she had flown down a few times to come see me. We both had been able to get jobs teaching in dance studios, which was very exciting. I started assisting my sophomore year and then got a full time job recently.

"I was thinking Jack, if today goes well, maybe we can all hang out later this evening?"

"You, me and Harry? I think I'll pass." Discomfort was obvious in his voice.

"No, of course not just is three. I don't have a death wish. I meant you, me, and the band. They're actually a bunch of really cool guys. Plus I miss them loads and want you to meet them. Please!" I pleaded.

"Oh well if that's the case then sure! I need more guy friends. I swear, hanging out with you so much is making me feminine."

"How so?"

"Well I mean the other day I told my coworker that her necklace clashed with her shoes." He reminisced. I laughed so hard I cried. It probably wasn't that funny.

"Well considering I'm asking you for fashion advice, I don't think that came from me." I pointed out.

"Touché. Anyway you need to hurry or else you're going to be late to work!" He scolded. Shit he was right. I was supposed to be on the road ten minutes ago. Let's pray the mothers of these children won't hate me for being late...

*****************************************

I took a quick shower and then changed into the clothes Jack had helped me pick out. My coworker Jenna helped me do my hair while I did my makeup so I wouldn't be late. Harry and I had agreed on 11:30 which was stupid for me because I knew I would be rushing to be on time. Yet I still agreed. I thanked Jenna and ran out to my car. Just as I was about to unlock the door, I heard a honk. I whipped around to find Harry sitting there in a truck, staring at me through his sunglasses with his signature cocky smirk plastered on his face. It took everything I had not to roll my eyes and smile, because deep down I knew I had missed him. I strolled over to where he was parked and walked up to the window.

"I thought we agreed on meeting at that cafe."

"We did, but I knew you would be late and I didn't feel like waiting around so I decided to come pick you up." He stated.

"Oh, thanks I guess then?" He smiled bigger at my uncertainty and leaned over the seat to open the passenger door.

"Get in."

"Well what if I don't want to?"

"Well that's too bad. Looks like you're walking."

"I have a car you idiot." I retorted.

"Are you sure about that?" He grinned.

"Yes! It's right over there. Are you blind?" I asked pointing to my car.

"I'm not blind, but maybe you are if you don't see that your car has a flat tire." I looked around and sure enough, the left tire on the back of my car was flattened.

"What the hell?!" I exclaimed. Of course I didn't have a spare tire because I had used it last year and never got it replaced.

"When was the last time you added air to your tires?" Harry asked, suddenly appearing beside me.

"Umm, I don't remember. Jack usually does it for me. But he's been really busy so I guess he forgot. Damn, this sucks." I muttered.

"Well it looks like you have no choice but to ride with me then." He said victoriously.

"Fine..." I mumbled. I followed him back to his car and got in the passenger seat.

"It's a good thing I came when I did. It looks like it's going to rain." He observed. Sure enough, dark clouds were coming in fast. I still wasn't used to how quick the weather changed in Florida, but I knew this storm was coming. It was supposed to clear up some time tomorrow morning. We drove for about ten minutes in the rain before his speed starting decreasing.

"Why are you slowing down?" I asked.

"I'm not."

"Harry, I can see and feel this car going slower so don't bullshit me. What's wrong?" I pressed.

"Um, well we may or may not be out of gas..."

"What?! Are you fucking kidding me? How did you not know before?"

"I guess I just forgot!" He yelled back at me. I let out a huge sigh as the car came to a complete stop on the side of the road.

"I'll call a tow truck." He said pulling out his phone.

"Don't bother. We're just a couple miles from the apartment. I'll have Jack pick us up. I got out my phone and dialed Jack's number before he could protest. He answered immediately.

"Hey babe."

"Jack I've told you to cut it out with the babe thing." I snapped.

"Ooo someone is in a mood. What did Harry do?"

"He forgot to put gas in the car and now we're stranded." I huffed.

"Where are you so I can come pick y'all up?"

"Right before the Rose and Jefferson intersection."

"I'll be there in five. Later babe."

"I'm going to kill you."

"Love you too! Enjoy your time with Harry!" He hung up before I could yell at him again.

Silence. I hate silence.

There is nothing more uncomfortable than a silence where you know something needs to be said, but you're too afraid to say it.

"Look Hanna..."

"I don't want to talk about it Harry."

"We have to talk about it at some point."

"Yeah well not while I'm stuck stranded in a car with you."

"Well you can't stop me so I'm going to talk."

"Harry of you do, I swear I'll get out of this car and start walking." I threatened. He scoffed.

"Yeah. Right. Anyway, I just need to say-- where are you going? Hanna!" He called out, but I was already out of the car and in the rain. I know I was being immature, but this made me realize I'm not ready to face Harry yet. More so, I'm not ready to man up to my mistakes. So like the coward I am, I ran.

"Hanna!" He called out. I could faintly here the slap of his boots against the wet cement, trying to catch up with my soaking shoes. I should've thought this through. I wasn't dressed for this and it was very hard to run in sandals.

"Hanna!" Harry yelled, finally catching up to me and grabbing my arm, turning me around to face him.

"Stop. Running." He gasped as he stared at my eyes. I took in his appearance and I realized something else that I hadn't noticed yesterday. Harry looked tired. He looked run down and beaten and... And desperate. I'm sure most of it was because of his nonstop tour, but most of me thought it was probably because of me. I couldn't believe I had hurt him like this.

"I'm sorry Harry." I started to sob. I let my walls that I had spent the last three years rebuilding start to crack as I started to cry.

"It's okay Hanna." He whispered over the rain as he pulled me into a hug. He was warm compared to the cold, dreary weather outside. I held onto him, afraid to let go in case one of us would break. I don't know how long we stood there shivering like idiots in the pouring rain before a pair of headlights shined on us.

"Need a lift?" Jack shouted to us. I nodded and felt a spark as Harry took my hand and lead me to Jack's car. We both sat in the back where Jack had laid out towels I guess in case something like this happened.

"Thanks Jack." I mumbled.

"That's what I'm here for." He met my eyes in the mirror with a concerned look and I mouthed 'later', signaling we would talk later. Jack tried to lighten up the awkward short car ride with lame jokes or questions about Harry's tour. Harry answered them politely, and in a friendly tone, opposite to the hostile one he was using yesterday.

The entire car ride, Harry held onto my hand. And although I told myself to, I refused to make any effort to stop him.
