I check the empty apartment one more time before giving into the fact that he left. First Jamie and now Harry? This is wrong, so wrong and I really hope he has a good reason.
I am so confused with everything going on in my life; I honestly just think I need a break. I’m grateful today is Saturday.
As I make breakfast my mind can’t help but wonder back to the events of last night. Jamie was so mad at me when she left and honestly I’m still a little pissed myself. She really has no right to interfere in my relationship, even if Harry was a part of her life at one point it shouldn’t affect anything now.
“But what happens if the past is going to affect your future.”
Harry’s words still haunt me. He sounded like a child, a lonely and sad child. I don’t know why he asked me but I’m glad he did. Anything he is willing to tell me, I am willing to accept.
My mind is brought back to the present by the burning smell now evident in my kitchen. I look down to the stove and notice the French toast I was making is now completely black. Great. I throw the burnt toast along with the eggs into the trash, before walking into my room and changing out of my clothes from yesterday. I pull on skinny jeans and a white v-neck before retrieving my laptop from my desk. If I’m going to eat breakfast a lone I might as well catch up on my emails and school work. I leave my phone on the counter knowing I will only check it every two minutes for texts from Harry, and walk out of my apartment.
I decide to go to a small diner down the street not wanting to get stuck in the New York Saturday traffic. It’s already 10:30 so I’m hoping it won't be busy.
I'm sadly mistaken.
They are having a band play at noon so the entire place is packed. When the waitress notices my irritated expression she apologizes and tells me they weren't suppose to be here for another hour. She lets me sit in the corner booth farthest from the stage and leaves to retrieve coffee and a menu.
I take out my laptop and wait for it to slowly turn on. When it does it says I have 36 new emails. Shit.
Most of them are spam or random twitter emails; there are only two from my parents which surprises me. My mom says she wants to come visit soon and it immediately sparks a smile. I have missed my mother, well my entire family and just the thought of seeing them makes me happy.
When the waitress returns with the coffee I order a small breakfast sandwich, and return to my laptop. I email my mom and tell her she could come visit next weekend, even though I'm going to be coming home soon for the summer anyways. Last year me and Jamie flew back to North Carolina together and I'm hoping we can do it again. This is the first year I haven't lived in the dorms though so I'm not exactly sure what to do about my apartment.
When I finally finish deleting the inbox there is a new message at the top from my mom.

Hi honey,
We would love to fly up next weekend! It's been too long and I know your dad and sister want to see you also! Maybe you could pick us up on Friday at the airport? And bring Asher with you! I can't wait to see him again.
Love you,
Mom
Asher. I've been so busy over the last couple weeks that I haven't even told her about that. That's going to be a really big shock, and I'm pretty sure I should tell them before they actually get here. Should I tell my family about Harry? What would I even say?
