Stubborn Love

chapter: 12

Josh's POV

   Its been a week since the country club and school has been in session for the week. Its finally friday which I am so happy about because I really need a break. Its almost the end of my day all I have to do is go to soccer practice and I am happy about that. This spring break I really missed soccer.

   The first thing we had to do as usual was run laps. I am the fastest on the team so I am ahead of everyone. I like that because  it gives me time to think. Since the country club I havent seen Grace or James and I miss them both. I really want us to be a family but I would never admit that.

   I didnt realize I had finished my five laps so I was going to keep running but coach yelled for me to stop. When all the guys were done their laps we started on our drills. After a long hard two hour practice we were able to leave. I went to the locker room and showered before getting dressed. I usually wait for Mason but today I just left. I really want to get home.

   When I walked inside the first thing I did was go to the kitchen to get food. I rumaged through the fridge to get the supplies to make a sandwich. As I finished making my sandwich Jacob came in the kitchen and grabbed it. He took a huge bite before saying, "Thanks litte bro this is really good." Then the asshle continued eating it. I mumbled asshole under my breath before I made myself a new sandwich.

   I put away all the ingrediants and sat on the counter to eat. Jacob grabbed two cans of pop and threw one at me at me. I nodded my head in thanks before opening it and gulping half of it down. "So we are going to Chole and Grace's house for dinner tonight. Their parents invited all of us over because our parents havent really talked since they got back," Jacob said to me finishing up his food.

   "OK at what time?" I asked feeling excited to see Grace and James again. "We are leaving at 6:00," he said to me before leaving the kitchen. I finished eating then cleaned up my mess before I went up to my room. I did my homework to get it over with before I started getting ready.

   I styled my hair before getting dressed in black jeans, a Ramones sweater and a black snapback with black vans. I finished getting ready just as my mom started yelling for me up the stairs. I grabbed my phone then ran downstairs. At the bottom I grabbed Bella and went running with her to the car. She was laughing and yelling the whole time. I put her in the car before climbing in myself.

   Ten minutes later we got to Grace's house and we all filed out of the car. We walked up to the door and Grace's mom answered. We all greeted her politely before she led us into the house. I got a call from Amy so I excused myself to answer it. When I was done dealing with her I walked back into the house and saw the most beautiful girl walking down the stairs.

 Grace's POV

    Today Josh's family is coming over for dinner so I had to help my mom cook. When I was done doing that I went upstairs to get ready. I tied some of my hair back and did my make-up naturally. I then got dressed into a white shirt with three quater sleeves and black roses on it, with a flowy black mid waist skirt with black flats. I then went downstairs to grab James so I can get him ready.

   I dressed him in a white t-shirt that says 'Mommy's little monster' on it with blue jeans, I put black socks on his feet then made my way downstairs. When I was dressing James I heard the Wilson's arrive so I am late to dinner at my own house. As I walked down the stairs I heard the front door open and in walked Josh in all his sexy glory.

  He looked up from his phone and our eyes met. We smiled at each other and met at the bottom of the stairs. "Hello Grace, you look gorgeous," he said to me. His comment made me blush but I managed a small thank you. James obliviously remebered him because he started talking in his baby talk and reached his arms out to Josh. He laughed before looking at me for permission to take him. I nodded my head, and Josh grabbed him.

   Together we walked into the living room where everyone was sitting. Jacob and Chloe grinned like fools when they say Josh holding James. Josh's parents were shcked to see Josh holding him. They know that Josh and I have a son together because my parents told them. They never told Josh though so he didnt even have a clue.

   We all sat around and talked with James being handed from person to person. My mom finally announced dinner so we all went to the dining room. James sat in his high chair between Josh and I. Dinner went by smoothly, everyone got along well. Which is good. When dinner was done the girls cleaned up while the guys sat around.

   After we had chocolate cake for dessert, yummy. When dessert was over Chloe and Jacob excued themselves to go do somwthing and the parents fell into a conversation. Purposely leaving Josh and I out of it. Their conversation was really boring so Josh and I went upstairs with James so he could play with his toys.

   We were sitting on the ground playing with some animals when James did something I honestly wasnt expecting. He crawled over to Josh and climbed up onto his lap. He then looked at him and said, "Dada." My sons first word was dada. I never expected that and Josh didnt either. James kept saying dada over and over again while poking Josh.

   Josh looked over to me and smiled a huge real grin before he looked back to James and said, "Thats right little buddy I am Dada." James started laughing and tried having a conversation with Josh. All he really said was some baby talk and threw dada in ever once in a while. I sat there silently watching them with a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I was really happy Josh finally said he was James' father, and I'm glad James likes him. I just with mama was James' first word.

   I soon joined in talking to them and Josh and I tried getting James to say mama. He only would say dada though. When Josh was called to go we went downstairs with Josh carrying his son. "I guess he likes me better if his first word was dada," Josh said to me teasingly. "You wish," was my reply. I bid everyone goodbye and even hugged Josh.

  Lets just say that shocked everyone and when James yelled dada to Josh, it shocked everyone even more. Oh tonight was a really good night.
