Stubborn Love

chapter: 18

   Today Josh, James, and I are having a family day. We haven't spent time together just the three of us, which sucks. We have been dating for a month now seeing as it now almost June. All three of us have seen each other but it would be either at my house or at Josh's house. We haven't actually done anything as a family though.

   I washed James and changed him into a white t-shirt with black jeans. I search his room for his red vans and put them on him. When I was done getting him ready I went to my room to get dressed. I placed James on my bed with some toys so I could get dressed.

   I quickly put my make-up on and put my hair in a messy bun. I didn't know what to wear so I just put on black jeans with a white t-shirt. I grabbed my red toms and slipped those on my feet. Since it wasn't cold out I didn't grab a sweater for me but I grabbed one for James. I placed everything I knew I would need in my big purse, grabbed James then went downstairs to wait for Josh.

   Josh text me saying he was getting me a coffee so he would take a little longer than planned. So I planted my butt on the couch with James on my lap and finished watching 'The Originals'. I started watching this episode a few days ago but I haven't had the chance to finish it.

   It just so happened that when the show ended Josh got here. I turned off the TV, and grabbed James and my purse so I could leave. Josh was waiting at the door for me with my coffee. We made a switch, I gave him James and he gave me my coffee. After a quick kiss for me he went to the car to put James in his car seat.

   I looked Josh over and started laughing. He was wearing black jeans with a white t shirt and red vans, with a black snapback. We were all matching today it seems. "Why are you laughing?" Josh asked me. "We are all matching," I said gesturing to my outfit. He looked at me, then looked at himself, then at James and started laughing too.

   "At least everyone at the mall will know we are together," he said opening the door for me. "Yup," I said popping the 'p' then I slid into the car. Josh went around to his side of the car and got in. Then we were on our way to the zoo.

   Today we are going to the zoo then we are going to the mall. Josh wanted to go to the zoo because he is secretly a child and I wanted to go to the mall, so we are doing both things. James is lucky because he gets to go to both.

    When we finally found a parking lot at the zoo and got in Josh went running over to the monkeys with James. When I got over to them I saw Josh making faces at the monkeys and it made James laugh. I snuck behind Josh and grabbed his ears and pulled them out. I yelled monkey and James started laughing hysterically. His laugh is so cute.

   I started laughing to because Josh made some strange noise that sounded like a monkey. He turned to face me and he looked angry. But when he saw James and I laughing he just started laughing with us.

    After the monkeys I dragged them over to the zebras because they are my favourite animals. "Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?" I wondered aloud. "Where did that some from?" Josh asked me. "I don't know, I have always wondered that," I replied. "Ok but I think they are black with white stripes," he replied. "No they aren't look at their stomachs. They are obviously white with black stripes," I said. "Then why did you ask?" he said looking at me funnily. I just shrugged and started walking to a different animal exhibit.

    We looked at every animal in the zoo. James' favourite were the monkeys because whenever we walked by them he would point at them and laugh. My favourite were the zebras because they are the cutest things. Josh's favourite was the lions and tigers, because he says they are manly animals. He is the weirdest person ever.

   The zoo has a little train tour that you can go on. I really wanted to go on it but Josh refused. Eventually I got him to agree but now I have to buy him a lion or tiger stuffed animal at gift shop. My boyfriend is such a child sometimes.

   When we were done looking at everything we went to the gift shop. Josh picked out a tiger stuffed animal and James picked out a monkey stuffed animal. I got a zebra one because I felt left out. When we were finished at the gift shop we left the zoo.

   Before we go to the mall we are going out for lunch. After a long argument between Red Robin and Boston Pizza, we finally arrived at Red Robin. Josh had a smug look on his sexy face because he won the argument.

   "Wipe that stupid look off you face," I said to him once we were seated. "You are just mad that I picked where we are eating," he said to me with a smirk. "Fuck you," I grumbled. "Ok but I think we should wait till we get home and we have someone to watch James, We shouldn't do that kind of thing in front of our son," he said smirking. My face went bright red because of his stupid comment and he just started laughing really loudly. Everyone that was seated around us turned to look our way and my face went even more red. It stayed that way till everyone went back to minding their own business.

   Almost two hours later we finally made it to the mall. I was so happy to finally be there. I love shopping and I haven't gone in what seems like forever. I think the last time I went shopping was when I was getting a dress for prom. And that was forever ago.

   We went to every store I wanted to. I got tons of stuff and Josh and James got stuff to. But not as much as me. Since we went to every store I wanted to Josh is dragging me to the Lego store. I have zero interest in lego so you can why this bothers me. At least the Disney store is right across so we can go there after.

   We spent twenty minutes in the lego store. How is that possible? I mean they have some pretty cool things built but come on. The store isn't that big so there isn't that much stuff in it. Yet we still managed to spend twenty minutes in there. Oh and what makes it better is that the eighteen year old child bought himself a lego set. Like seriously he is eighteen for crying out loud.

   When we were finally finished there we went to the Disney store. I love going there because I love looking at the princess stuff. I immediately went over to the princess section and my two boys followed me. "Really Grace you are eighteen, why are you looking at princess stuff," he said to me. "That is coming from the eighteen year old boy who bought himself a lego set," when I said that he shut his mouth immediately.

   "Who is your favourite princess?" Josh asked me. "Princess Ariel," I said without a thought. He just nodded his head in response. They were playing the song You Got A Friend In Me from Toy Story. Josh and I looked at each other and its as if we could read each others mind because we both burst out singing. At first everyone was looking at us like we were crazy but eventually everyone started singing along. It was like a flash mob but instead of dancing we sang.

   We left the store not to long after that happened. We got James a Mickey Mouse hat. It was so cute because it had mickey mouse ears. I couldn't stop myself from getting it.

    When we were done at the mall Josh dropped James and I off at home. It was late because we did a lot of stuff. I put everything we got away and then we both went to sleep. James was out like a light by the time we got home and I was out like a light by the time my head hit the pillow.
