Stubborn Love

chapter: 11

Grace's POV  

   After everything that happened with Josh the other night, I've been happy. I really enjoyed making out with him, but I still think it was a mistake. We both were tipsy due to the amount of alcohol we drank. Josh was much drunker than me, so I don't even know if he remembers what happen.

   Today is the last day of spring break and the country club my family is apart of are throwing an end of spring break party. I don't really want to go but my parents are forcing me to come. I don't want to go but my parents are forcing me to go. I don't want to go because Josh's family are members there too, and I know he will be there. I don't really want to see him yet.

   I showered myself and James then got us both ready. I put him in black jean shorts with a Mickey Mouse shirt and black runners. I then got his diaper bag ready. When I was grabbing a toy for him I found his sock monkey. It was mine before because Josh gave it to me, and when James was born he took an interest in it. I decided to just bring it so I stuffed it in the bag.

   I then put James in his play pen in my room so I could get ready. I blow dried my hair and curled it with the curling iron. I then did my make-up naturally with red lip stick. I then got dressed in a white floral dress with a brown belt around the waist, with brown heels and a brown purse. I put all the essentials in my purse before I grabbed James and the diaper bag and went downstairs.

   Everyone else was ready so we piled into the car and went to the country club. When we got there we went inside and found our designated table. I fed James when we got there because he was whining from being hungry. That boy sure can eat a lot for a six month old.

   We sat a around for a little bit just talking to the other people at our table. They were silently judging me for having a kid at eighteen I could tell how they looked at me and him. I was looking around and I spotted Zak. I never knew he was a member here, he never told me that when I mentioned the party. I handed James over to Chloe and went to talk to him.

Jacob's POV

   My family got to the country club party late because Josh took forever to get ready. When we got there I spotted Chloe playing with James so I decided I was going to go talk to them. Well only Chloe really because James cant talk yet. I excused myself to go see them and brought Bella with me, because she loves babies.

   "Hey Chlo," I said sitting in the empty seat beside her. Bella sat on my lap and immediately became transfixed with James. "Hi Jacob how have you been?" Chloe said to me. "I've been good, how are you and the family? and especially my nephew?" I said. "We are all good thanks, how is your family," she asked. "We are good," I said.

    We sat there talking for a long time and Bella really was having fun playing with James. We were laughing and talking and we were not paying attention to anything around us. "Hey guys," when we heard that all of us turned too look at the person behind the voice, including James. There stood my baby brother Josh, looking kinda nervous.

   "Hi Josh," Chloe said politely. I just nodded at him and Bella gave him a hug, as usual. We talked about nothing with him for a while, and we all noticed Josh sneaking glances at James "Do you want to hold him?" Chloe asked him. "Will Grace mind?" he asked. "Not at all," was her response and she handed him over.

   Josh was looking at him with such adoration in his eyes. Even though no one told him that he is James' dad you could tell he already knows. I snuck a picture of them on my phone and sent it to Josh and Grace. He was looking at him and James was looking back. Josh was making faces which made James laugh.

   I don't know why Josh just wont forgive Grace. That way he can see him all the time and be his dad. Not to mention I would get to see him a lot more. I have only met him a couple times but I love him already, he is a great little nephew. I am going to have to have a talk with Josh later about him forgiving Grace later.

Grace's POV

   I talked to Zak for a while then I decided I had to go back to see James. When I was walking over there I got a text message. It was a picture of James with Josh. It was a really adorable picture but I don't understand how he is holding James.

   When I got back to the table I saw Jacob, Bella, and Josh there hanging out with James and Chloe. I smiled at the site of seeing James with his daddy because it looked really adorable. I really wished Josh would just forgive me already and be his present dad instead of an unpresent one.

   "Hello," I said when I approached them. They all said a hi back, Josh looking at me nervously. James reached his arms towards me signaling he wanted me to take him. I looked at Josh and asked him if he minded before I grabbed James. We all sat around there civilized and talked. Josh or I didn't say one thing about the kissing incident. We all acted normal just sitting there.

   When they started playing music I wanted to dance and so did Chloe. So the boys got to babysit because we convinced Bella to come dance with us. We danced to 'Roar' by Katy Perry. The night ended up being a really good one. I got along with Josh(thank god). We all had a great time hanging out together.

   I hope that this is a new beginning for us. I'm really hoping that Josh will want to be in James' life. I definitely have my fingers crossed about that. When I got home I changed James into his pajamas because he was already asleep. I then went to my room and got ready for bed and had an amazing sleep. I had a dream that night that Josh, James and I were a real family. That thought really made me smile like a fool.
