"Where the freaking hell is my wallet?" I exclaim as I dig in the sand that surrounds my beach towel. Henry turns his head towards me, snapping out of the daydream that he's been in for the past five minutes.

"What?" He asks. I send a glare his way. The least he could do is be mentally present for this 'date'.

"Nothing...I just," I flip over the towel and find my wallet sitting nicely on the sand, and I realize that I put it there for safe keeping about an hour ago. "...couldn't find my wallet..."

He lets out a soft chuckle. "You're one of a kind, Enny, one of a kind."

"I know." I smile widely and put a hand under my chin. "and right now I really wanna go swimming."

"Then what're we waiting for? let's go!"

He jumps up and offers me a hand. I don't really need help getting up but it's the polite thing to do...I guess.

I grab his hand, and he yanks me up onto my feet. I brush the sand off of my arms and am slightly surprised when he grabs my hand and holds it tightly in his. I look up into his blue eyes, and a smile plays on his lips and reaches up to his eyes. It's been a while since I've felt so happy around other people. At home, Caleb is as quiet as can be, and he barely speaks a word to me anymore. At work, I'm overwhelmed by the questions and meetings that I'm bombarded with. It's all just been so chaotic lately. When he came back from his short little 'business trip', he was wasted. He could barely stand on his own. I didn't really have to do much digging to realize that he hadn't really been at a business meeting. He was probably at a club.

"Can I kiss you?" Henry whispers, his eyes drifting down to my mouth.

In response, I stand on my tip toes and quickly press my lips to his teasingly, and pull away after just a second.

He sticks his bottom lip out and pouts. "You're unfair."

I stick my tongue out at him, and run towards the ocean, dragging him behind me. The sand is burning underneath my feet, so I scamper quickly towards the water, only running on my toes. As we near the water, small shells line the edge, and I have to watch my footing even more carefully.

I run into the water, and immediately feel so much better. The water is cool against my feet, and the shells aren't as spiky and close together.

Henry's hand is still holding onto mine as we trudge deeper and deeper into the salt water. The water is up to my shoulders when I decide that this is deep enough and stop walking.

"I love the ocean. Just not the fish or sharks or deep water." I say as I jump up and starting floating around on my back. "It's just creepy, ya know? Looking down and seeing just blackness and the occasional massive sea creature? Freaks me out, and it has ever since I was a little kid."

He laughs but nods his head in agreement. "Yeah, I had this stupid fear as a kid that there would be a shark in the pool, so whenever I had to swim laps during lessons, I always went extra fast in the deep end so that the hammer head shark wouldn't catch me."

"OH MY GOSH!" I exclaim realizing that I did the exact same thing. "I did that too! But I thought that the t looking thing at the bottom of the pool was a legitimate hammer head shark and it freaked me out."

We both laugh until our stomachs hurt, and my cheeks are cramping from smiling for so long. We talk about random things for the next hour, before I realize that Caleb and I have to get going.

"Oh shit!" I exclaim looking at my waterproof watch and realizing that it's already 12:30 and it takes a little while to get back to the apartment. "I have to go! Like right now!"

I start running for the beach but am slowed down because of the resistance from the water. I'm lifting my knees high to try to get more distance with each step, but it just feels like I'm going in slow motion, so I just go back to walking.

When I get to the place in the water where it's shallow enough for me to actually walk, I start running back towards our two towels that are laid out on the hot sand. I'm all salty and covered in sand as I quickly gather my stuff and run towards my car. I look back and see that Henry is just watching me go, and I send him a kiss in the air, before turning the corner that leads off the beach and into the parking lot.

I find my car, and throw my stuff in the trunk. I grab my dress and put it on over my bathing suit, not even caring if it gets wet. I start the car and speed home. I've gotta be back by 1:30 at the latest, or else we're gonna be late for the concert that starts at 6:00 pm in Boston.

By the time I get home, It's thankfully still only 12:57, and I rush inside, throwing my towel and beach bag by the door, and running to my bedroom. I find a fresh set of clothing and jump in the shower, cleaning myself in record time.

When I walk into the living room, it's only 1:14, and Caleb is sitting on the couch with Disney channel playing some stupid show.

"You're watching that again?" I ask with a scoff, and a playful flick to his head.

"It's a good show." He says flatly. It seems as if he's been furious with me for the past 5 days, and I have no clue as to why. It's frustrating to me too, that he won't talk to me or tell me what's been bothering him. The longer he keeps it in, the more it will build, and eventually, he's gonna explode, and I might not be there to pick up the mess he makes.

"Caleb, why won't you just tell me what's wrong?" I ask, throwing my arms up in the air in exhaustion.

"Because it doesn't matter to you anyways!" he says to me, keeping his eyes trained on the TV screen.

"Of course it matters to me! You're clearly upset, and I've got something to do with your anger...sadness..who fucking knows, and it's my job as your best friend to try to help you through the hard times in life."

"Let's just go to the concert."
