ENNY'S P.O.V
During the pathetic little meeting with the other business, we discussed this lawsuit thing, before they finally just admitted to wanting to meet us and apologized for wasting our time. I was completely dumbstruck when they said this. A group of 8 people had walked into the meeting room dressed incredibly casually while Caleb and I were fully dressed up. I had a black skirt and white blouse on and he was in a full blown suit.
The people come bustling in. 4 guys, 4 girls. They have giddy looks on their faces as their heads peek around the door and see us. They take their seats around the table, and fold their hands neatly.
"Mr. Emery, Ms. Walker, how are you today." Asks one man, his brown hair mostly hidden beneath a beanie.
"Good, and you?" Caleb replies, and I nod in agreement.
"Fantastic!" The guy replies a tiny bit too enthusiastically.
After talking for a couple minutes about business, they admit that there is no business of theirs, they're just super-fans of Caleny and wanted to meet us. I look over to Caleb, expecting him to be mad at hearing this. Mad that they wasted his time, like he usually is with people who do so. But, he has a broad smile on his face.
"That's the best thing I've ever heard!" He exclaims, tilting his head back in a laugh. "I am so glad that you're not suing us." He stands up and shakes the hand of each of the workers before sitting down next to me.
For the next hour, we have a big 'ol conversation on life, and at the end, we take pictures with each person. They're all super nice and have the funniest accents ever. When we leave their office, it's around lunchtime so Caleb and I go somewhere to get some food. We come across someplace called 'Nandos' and pick up some chicken from there.
"Man, they need some of these in the U.S." I mumble as I take another massive bite of my very tasty meal. Caleb grunts in agreement. We walk down to the beach, which isn't really much of a beach, more like a long strip of rocks, and we sit down near the water to eat our lunches.
A long silence occurs in which we don't say a single word to each other, and just stare into the open water.
"I can't believe that I dwelled on something you didn't even say for 2 entire years." Caleb says, putting his trash into the carry out bag. I glance over at him, and he has his arms resting on his knees, a light breeze blowing his hair.
"Yeah, me neither." I say with a light laugh. "We have some serious issues that we need to work out."
"Oh hell yes we do." He says, finally looking over at me. "Do you wanna do that now or later?"
"Here seems like a peaceful place to do so, so we might as well." I say, shifting awkwardly, anticipating what's to come.
"Okay, so...do you mind if I go first? There's a lot that I want to say to you." Caleb asks me as he lays down on the rocks.
"I don't mind at all, go ahead."
"Alright, well this is going to probably be awkward and hard for you to hear, but I've been meaning to tell you this for the past 2 years. I know you probably don't think the same things that I do, but I just wanted to get it out before it eats me alive." He takes a deep breath. "so I'm just gonna go for it, because what else do I have to lose?" He quickly glances at me before continuing. "I've been in love with you since the day I met you. And before you say anything, I just want you to know that it's okay if you don't feel the same way, because I know you probably don't." he sits up and looks directly at me. "The reason that I got so weird when you started going out with Henry is because I was jealous. I wanted to be him, even if he's a jerk, I wanted to be him because he had something that I didn't. He had you."
I blink, my mouth slightly open in shock. "Wow, Caleb...I don't know what--"
"It's okay! You don't have to say anything, I just wanted to tell you." He puts a finger to my lips before laying back down. "Oh, by the way you have sauce all over your face, so here's a napkin." He holds up a napkin.
I take it from him, and clean up. I'm speechless, and don't know how to act or reply.
"Do you still feel that way?" I ask softly, looking at the veins in his forearm.
"Yeah," He says. "I do."
A/N WOW IT'S BEEN A WHILE HASN'T IS! OK well I'm back now. And high school sucks, so idk how often I'll be uploading... :/
Anyways, have a good weekend, ily all <3
