Ha, so much for using my time wisely over break! My apologies for such a late update!!
CALEB'S P.O.V
She pulls her head away from mine, raising her hand to her mouth, her eyes wide. She sits still in front of me, unmoving, not blinking, barely breathing.
My heart beats loudly in my ears, the steady thump the only thing that I can hear in this silence. She inhales unsteadily, and I can hear the quiver in her breath.
"Caleb..." She says softly, her eyes still wide and wild, staring straight into mine.
The look on her face says everything. I've over stepped my boundaries. She probably hates me now. What was I thinking, for God's sake! She has a boyfriend! Not a very good one, in my opinion, but still. Have some respect you goddamn idiot, I mentally scold myself for being so stupid. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done that," I say, leaning back against the wall of the elevator.
She sits silently beside me, still not moving. I take a quick glance over at her, but she is still staring at me.
"What's wrong?" I ask her, feeling slightly uncomfortable. Her hand is no longer over her mouth, and her eyes are no longer wide, but they are filled with tears. I feel frantic. Why is she crying? I don't know how to deal with crying people.
She crawls over to me, putting her hands on both sides of my face, and breathing heavily and unsteadily: like how most people breathe when they're crying. Choppy and deep.
"I remember," She says, so softly that I can barely hear her. But she says it and that's all that matters.
