End Game

Sadie

(Claire's POV)
I doged quickly to the left as Haze lunged at me. He turned on his heels fast and cut my back, just barely. I turned and got in a defensive position, holding Erebus up in front of my face.
"Oh, got a new toy eh? We'll see how easily it breaks." He lunged again, this time aiming for Erebus. He wrapped his hand around Erebus and tried to pull, but quickly let go, howling in pain. The hand he used to grab Erebus with was now burned. I grin triumphantly.
"Guess you don't know what this is then. This is Erebus, and he's going to help me take back humanity," I said, stepping closer with each word. Haze looked up in fear as I raised my sword up. I almost brought it down, but I stopper when Arthur yelled out,
"Claire! Stop! Don't kill him!" I turned and looked at him, confused at what he just said.
"Arthur? Why did you stop me? I could rid this world of this creature forever if you just let me finish him." Arthur shook his head.
"I mean no pity to the vampire. I just thought about Angel and how she would want to study him." He smiled devilishly. I smiled too, and nodded, turn it to the vampire.
"Haze, stand up and put your hands behind your head." He got up slowly and did as I said. Arthur got some chain bindings and tied him up. While all this took place, Haze was smiling evily. We took him down to the cellar and locked him in one of the super security rooms.

(Few minutes later)
Lily patted me on the shoulder, Peter looked happy and Zane just stood giving me a slight nod and then turning away quickly. Everyone had been notified of a breach in the security and everyone got out except me, which Arthur then realised and went to fine me. I sighed and glanced at Arthur, who was looking a bit down. Lily started to mess with Zane, so I got up and went to talk to Arthur.
"Hey, what's up? You look kinda down. Did the break in shake you?" I asked as I put my back against the wall next to him. He sighed and replied,
"Yea. It's just.... Well we've never had a break in before. And the fact now is, we have one of the Overlords captured and we know these weapons work against vampires. So... What are we gonna do about it? Are we just gonna sit here and enjoy the end of our days?" He sighed and looked at the ground, a frustrated look plastered on his face.
"Arthur, it's okay. We'll be fine. We just need to be prepared for anything, ya know?" He nodded.
"Now let's enjoy this victory. We've earned it." I grabbed Arthur's arm and pulled him over to the rest of the group.

(Unknown POV)
"Is she stable?"
"Yes sir. She'll be ready by tomorrow."
"Good. Will she be able to withstand the weapon?"
"We believe so sir."
"Excellent. Begin the test run."
Sounds of machines filled the small test chamber. A little, lifeless body was brought into the room and placed on a chair. The people hooked the body up to the machines and then hurried out of the room. The man watched from the other side of the glass as the girls body came to life. It sat up and looked around, curious to it's new surroundings.
"Put the nutrients level higher. I want her to be very strong and healthy."
"Yes sir."
Flip, flip.
The girl looked at the two men on the other side of the glass. Her long, ratted black hair fell to her stomach, and her now full of life violet eyes stared at them.
"Whats your name girl?" Growled the man standing. She titled her head before speaking.
"My name is Sadie."

(Claire's POV)
I sat up in my bed to the new alarm clock Peter gave me. I turned it off, got dressed, ate breakfast and headed to the training area. When I arrived, I saw Lily and Peter waiting for everyone else to arrive.
"Hey Claire! Over here," called Lily. I jogged over to them and said good morning. Not long after, Zane and Arthur arrived and we started setting up the sparing pairs.
"Ok, today Lily and Peter will fight first. Then it'll be Zane and Claire." I heard Zane suck in air very quietly and Peter give a small ha.
"Squad 13, Arthur Harrison," said a commander, as he walked up to Arthur.
"Thats me. What is it, I was about to.begin training?"
"Sorry sir, but we have a new member for your group." Arthur gave him a confused look.
"You must have the wrong Squad. I was unaware of a new member coming." The commander nodded.
"She was assigned this morning. By the War General." Arthur stiffened at the mention of the War General.
"Ok then. Send her over and we'll start. Will she need a weapon?"
"No sir, she already has one."
"Ok, your dismissed." The commander nodded and walked over to a girl I didn't notice until he walked over to her. She had long black hair and violet eyes. She smiled and it gave me the chills.
There's something I don't like about her. She feels off somehow.
She merrily skipped up to Arthur and bowed.
"Hello~ I'm Sadie and I'll be joining Squad 13 today!" Arthur nodded.
"Ok, Sadie. We we're going to do a bit of sparing. Ill start you out with me first, so I can see where you stand." Sadie nodded happily and went to the sparing mat. Arthur pulled out his golden axe and got in a ready position.
"Are you ready?" Sadie nodded and Arthur charged at her. Almost in a flash, she pulled out a giant Scythe and held it to Arthur's neck.
"Got you~" she sang. He lowered his weapons and nodded.
"That was very good Sadie. Ok, I'll start working with you after everyone else's turn." She nodded and merrily skipped to me and sat down.
Man this girl is really creepy. Especially with that huge Scythe.
I felt like I had seen her before, but where and when slipped my mind.
