(Claire's POV)
I walked into the meeting room where Arthur told us all to meet. Peter, Lily and Arthur were already there, all waiting for the rest of us. I sat down next to Lily and we waited in silence. Zane came in a few minutes later with Sadie in tow. Arthur nodded for them to shut the door and they also locked it.
"Ok, now that everyones here, we can get started," stated Arthur. He pulled out a file and opened it.
"We have our first mission." Those words sent shivers down my spine. Lily perked up, Peter looked at Arthur in disbelief, Zane's eyes sparkled even though his face was emotionless, and Saide jumped up and down in her seat.
"What's the mission Arthur?" I asked.
"Well I'm glad you asked. We are going to take out a vampire fortress near the town of Harpy. Its rumored that theres lots of vampire information there. So our job is to get the information, kill as many vampires as possible, and get out without getting caught. Everyone got it?" The group nodded and Arthur stood, dismissing us. We unlocked the door and went to go get ready.
"We're leaving at noon. Meet up at the training room," Arthur called after us. I excitedly ran to my room and changed into my uniform that was completely black. The pants went to my knees, and the sleeves went to my elbows, the perfect uniform. I slid Erebus into his sheath and looked over everything to make sure I had everything. I still had about an hour before we had to meet up, so I sat down and calmed my racing heart.
"Is something wrong Claire," asked Erebus.
"No, I'm just a bit nervous. Thats all."
"Well with me and your fighting skills, you'll do fine. Plus you have your friends yo back you up." I sighed and nodded to nothing.
"Yea, but still. Anything could go wrong. I don't want anything to happen to anyone. I don't want them to end up like my family." The memory of my family being killed flashed through my mind, causing me to shudder.
"They won't. I promise." I smiled.(One hour later)
I stood outside the training room with everyone except Arthur. Everyone looked nervous, even Sadie, who was so excited to be fighting something. Arthur finally arrived, wearing the same uniform as everyone else, and nodded. He lead us to a small car, which we all fit into somehow. Arthur drove, while the rest of us, excluding Sadie who sat in the passenger seat, sat in the back. It took about 45 minutes to get a few miles away from the fortress. We all hoped out of the car, stretched, and made our way to the edge of the south wall. Once there, we quietly scaled the wall and got inside. Arthur split us into two groups with Lily, Peter, and Zane in one, and Arthur, Sadie, and myself in the other. Lily's group took the east side, while we took the west.
The west side had many offices filled with unimportant papers, but still no important documents. And surprisingly, there were few guards, which unsettled me and Arthur. Finally we reached the end of the west side and found an almost hidden room. We carefully opened it and found a few vampires bent over papers, talking quietly. Before they could turn around, Arthur and I used our weapons to slice straight through them. They fell to the ground and turned to ash, without sound. Arthur had Sadie guard the door while we searched the room. After about 5 minutes of searching, I found a stack of papers that had battle plans and major information on fortresses and the leaders.
"Arthur, you need to see this," I hissed quietly. He come over to me and scanned the papers.
"This is good. We'll take these. The rest we don't need. Lets go." We quietly left the room right as an alarm went off and Lily, Peter, and Zane came sprinting at full force down the hall. There were what seemed like 20 guards chasing them, yelling for them to stop.
"RUN!" Yelled Lily as she passed us. I turned on my heels and sprinted after them, Sadie and Arthur behind me. We got to the north side, where the gate and a whole lot of guards where, and jumped over the side. It wasn't that long of a fall, but it still hurt when we landed. Getting up fast, we ran as fast as we could from the fortress. We found the car, got in, and took off.
"What... did I say... about getting... caught?" Arthur said between breaths.
"Not to?" Questioned Lily.
"Yes. So why did you get caught?"
"Well if it wasn't for PETER, who kept running around and looks in random rooms, we might not have been caught!" Arthur sighed and kept driving. There was an awkward silence, before Sadie began to hum. She hummed a tune that sounded like Greensleeves.(Back at the base) (cause I is lazy)
We got back to base and Arthur took the papers to the higher ups. I've never met the higher ups, but by the way Arthur looked, I knew I didn't want to. He nervously clutched the papers as he headed off to see them.(Another time skip cause lazy)
I sat up in my bed when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and opened the door, which Arthur was behind. He held out a paper with a kinda scared face. I carefully took the paper and read it.Dear Claire,
We've noted your performance on the battle field, as told from Arthur's perspective, and decided to test you. We look forward to finally meeting you.General Bricksha
"Its from the higher ups," said Arthur, after I finished the letter.
"I didn't really do anything on the battle field though. What did you tell them?" He gave me a confused look, so I showed him the paper. He shook his head, noting that he didn't say that.
"Well, then they want something else from me. Lets go find out."Hey hoped you enjoyed this part. Also I think I jammed my left middle finger.
Willow: How are you typing then?
Silver: I don't use my middle finger to type you dingus.
Willow: But don't you use it to hold your phone.
Silver: Yea, it's painful but somehow I'm typing.
So before I hurt my finger more, I will finish my sentence.
