Silence before the storm.

Adira:

We were standing at a local park with our friends. This was a park that was meant for almost all the couples of the nearby areas to come in. A grown up or elderly hardly ever visited the park since it was not that well kept but it was better that way for us. It meant we could do whatever we wabted without having our every action reported back to our parents by those snoopy ladies who did nothing but go to kitty parties and gossip. But then...

My world came to a startling halt. This was a nightmare. If my parents found out about this I'd die of shame. Being an Indian, you couldn't not have a boyfriend at the age of 17.  Some parents supported this I doubted if mine would. What was I going to do. I stared at the aunty who saw me with Ahaan. His hand draped on my shoulder as we stood with a bunch of friends. This was going to be my death. I knew her very well. She would tell my parents and I'd be caged for life. What was I thinking coming here?
I shook Ahaan, " Take your hand off of me!"
"No."
He looked at me and playfully pulled me closer to him and kisssed my hair. No. No. No.

" Ahaan look," I pointed towards her direction subtly, "let me go."
" Oh shit."
" I'm so worried."
" Babe, chill I'm sure she won't do anything."
" I really really do hope so. "

Inside I was shivering with fear. I knew her too well. What will I do? Oh god!

Ahaan:

Honestly I never felt afraid of showing off Adira to the world. My bacha was beautiful. She was just mine and that was all that mattered. But when the lady saw us. I knew something bad was about to happen. I could say by her smirking face that she was here to create chaos and that she wasn't going to let this tid bit of juicy gossip go to waste. No she would do everything she could to publicise how 'Mr. Patels daughter was so close to a guy how shameful....' and enjoy as others carry that forward while adding their own bits and making fake stories.

This was the reason I hated these middle aged women who could never let the society grow by doing such rubbish. They say the society spoils a girls name without realising THEY ARE THE SOCEITY THEMSELVES. I told Adira to be calm and just tell her parents I was a good friend if they asked. She nodded and I knew she was scared but honestly if anyone tried to hurt her I wouldn't mind breaking their bones.
