(Raven’s POV)-

So it was Sebastian. It was hard to tell seeing as how I’ve never heard him speak before today. Right now, he was holding an ice pack to my wrist which he and Jack had just reset from my encounter with Sarah earlier. Did it hurt? Heck yeah.

Jack had left the room, and Sebastian acted as if I had some contagious disease or something and sat in a black chair in the corner reading a book. “She’s their sister, huh?” He looked up at me from his book, “Yes. Mistress Sarah Athena is the oldest of the ten siblings. Mistress Rose is second oldest.”

My jaw dropped. “Second oldest? But she’s like twelve or something!” Sebastian laughed for the first time, “No, she’s two hundred ninety-eight, and Sarah Athena is Three-hundred. Would you like to know how old Master Damian is?” I shook my head and tried to absorb this information. “Are they vampires? Are we vampires?!” Once again, he laughed and set his book on the floor.

“No, no, no. Nothing like that. They’re Reapers.” Wow. Didn’t see that one coming. “Like grim reaper?” He nodded and I fell backwards onto the bed to stare up at the ceiling. “So what about us?”

“Think of yourself as a bodyguard and helper at the same time. You take orders from your master and you protect him. But if he dies, so do you, and I don’t think you want that. But if you die, he doesn’t. Do you understand?”

I glanced at him from the corner of my eye and nodded slightly and saw him smirk. “So….how old are you?” I heard him chuckle. “Two hundred and five.” I nodded to myself and the door to the bedroom opened revealing Jack and a steaming Damian.

I sat up to look at him, “I take it you and your sister doesn’t get along?” He glared at me and Jack sat on the floor beside Sebastian. Damian’s green bright green eyes bore into mine as he gently took my hand in both of his cold ones. I felt the chill of ice through to my bones and they began to pop and shift beneath my skin.

I shivered beneath his hands, and he released my wrist. “Better?” I rotated and stretched my wrist and it felt the best it’s ever been in my life. I nodded and he smirked slightly. “Good.”

He turned to go out the door, “Why did she say that the Council will have your head because of me?” He turned quickly and I saw both Jack and Sebastian’s eyebrows raise. “It’s nothing that concerns you.” I felt heat rush to my face, “Like hell it doesn’t! She tried to kidnap me and broke my wrist, and you say that it doesn’t concern me?!” His eyes turned a darker shade of green and dark circles began to form around his eyes along with dark veins. This isn’t good.

Sebastian jumped up from his chair making it fall over, and he reached me so quickly I hadn’t seen him grab me, push me into the hallway, and shut the door. I caught my breath before placing my ear against the door.

I heard Damian screaming profanities and some kind of language I’ve never heard before, and Jack and Sebastian yelling back at him. I heard something large crash against a wall and heard stone crumble. What’s going on in there? It can’t be pretty.

As I continued to listen, cold fingers wrapped around my wrist and pulled me away from the door. “That’s not a good idea. You must have said something touchy to make him this angry.” Rose had a worried look on her face. “Is it always easy to frustrate him?” She nodded and began to pull me down the hallway.

She stopped us in front of an oak door and opened it to reveal a teal colored room with a large four-poster bed in the center of the room. “Stay in here until I come back to get you. I need to rescue my familiars before Damian murders them.” Murders them? She closed the door quickly and I could hear her running down the marble hallway followed by another loud crash.

(Damian’s POV)-

After she said those words, I could feel the darkness in the back of my mind take over. I could feel the dark showing itself on my face, but could see the fear in Raven’s eyes. Calm down, Damian. Calm down!

I heard Sebastian’s chair turn over and felt the wind as he flashed past me grabbing Raven. The door slammed shut, and that seemed to have pushed the darkness to its edge.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh! Bring her back now! She must be punished!” Yep. All control was lost as I watched my body pick up the wardrobe and fling it against the wall. Jack and Sebastian grabbed onto my arms trying to restrain me, but it didn’t work.

Sebastian was flung like a rag-doll against the opposite wall, and Jack was lifted off the ground before being slammed into the marble floor leaving a huge crater.

“M-master Damian. Please calm down. You don’t want to kill someone, do you?” I turned to see Sebastian pulling himself from the floor wiping a drop of blue blood from his mouth. No, I don’t. Yes, you do! She spoke to you like a peasant! My body closed the distance between me and Sebastian and pressed him roughly against the wall holding him above my head.

Before I could cause any more damage, the door to the room opened again revealing Rose. “Put my familiar down now, Damian!” She walked to the center of the room where Jack still laid unmoving in the crater.

“No! They all must be punished!” She shook her head, “I know you’re in there somewhere, Damian. Take back control before you do something you’ll regret. Think about what happened to Lauren and what could happen to Raven.” The darkness faltered as I fought it back.

“There ya go.” as soon as I was sure I had it under control again, I lowered Sebastian and apologized. Rose knelt beside Jack and placed her hand on his chest. “You got him good. This will probably take me all day to heal.” I knelt beside them and placed my hand beside hers.

Broken skull, back, leg, and arm. “I’m so sorry, Rose. I couldn’t control it.” She nodded with a frown. “I know, Dami. I know.” I picked up Jack from the crater and handed him to Sebastian who already had his arms ready. “I’m going to leave now.” Rose nodded and waved me away.

(Raven POV)-

Rose returned to her room with Sebastian behind her. Carrying Jack?! “Oh my god!” Rose nodded sadly. “Place him on the bed, Sebastian and take Raven away.” Sebastian bowed his head as he laid Jack carefully on the large bed.

Sebastian looked up at me, and I got the hint. I left the room and waited for Sebastian. When he came out, I assaulted him with questions. “He’s not dead, is he?!” He shook his head as he gently closed the door to Rose’s room. “No, but if Mistress Rose hadn’t have calmed Damian down when she did, we both could be.”

It was that bad?

Sebastian took my hand and led me down the hallway. “Would you like to see the damage?” I nodded, and he opened the door to Damian’s room. It was chaos. The once beautiful wardrobe laid in shards of wood and a man-sized crater was smashed into the marble.

I started to turn back into the hallway, but Sebastian stopped me. “Look.” I turned, and wasn’t prepared for what I saw. Pieces of marble and wood whirled in the air and soon, everything was back to normal. “The house is enchanted. You can knock and burn the house down all you want, but it will just keep coming back.”

I thought about all I had done to Damian. "Where is he, anyways?" Sebastian raised his eyebrow. "Master Damian? On the roof, why?" I smiled as I ran down the hallway. "To apologize."
