The Funeral

Where am I? I found a good sized crowd and joined them. They look panicked, but at what? I pushed through to the front, and it was if no one had seen me. I looked at the man standing beside me and waved my hand in front of his face, and it didn't seem to faze him.

In the center of the crowd was a girl being choked-out by an old woman. I walked closer and recognized the girl, it was

me. "I must be dreaming." I said to myself.

Dream- Me reached out her hand with tears in her eyes. "I don't remember this part." I was confused. Who was I reaching for? I knelt beside myself and looked in the direction she was reaching for and found Damian and the rest of the group. But mostly Damian.

I looked down at myself, and suddenly her attention snapped onto me, and so did the woman. I stood quickly as the woman pulled herself off of Dream-Me and began walking towards me.

I backed away from the woman and found myself backed into a wall. The woman sneered and when she got inches from me, she grabbed my shoulders and shook.

I was shaken awake from my dream, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Rose standing over me along with Sebastian, who wore an amused smirk. "What are you smirking about, Sebastian?" He shook his head and I looked around for anything he could have found funny, and then I spotted it. Damian was sprawled out across the bed nearly taking up the whole space and that I was on the edge of falling off.

Why do I always end up in his bed? I climbed carefully out of bed and wiped my face sleepily. "What do you need, Rose?" She held out an arm-full of black cloth, "It's time to get dressed for your funeral." I grabbed the black dress out of her hands and found a strip of lace. "What's that?"

It was as if I'd asked a stupid question. "It's to cover your face, of course." She turned dramatically to Sebastian, "Children these days, I swear!" I took the lace and carried the load into the on-suite bathroom and took a shower.

Stepping out of the shower, and dried my hair before pulling on the floor length dress. I admired myself and looked at the strip of lace on the counter. "How do I do this?" I held the strip over my face and saw that it only covered over my eyes. I secured it in place with a bobby pin and pulled my hair into a side bun.

I walked out of the bathroom to see Rose And Sebastian sitting on the edge of the bed and Damian snoring behind them. I suppressed a laugh, and Rose smiled. "The dress looks wonderful, and I'm glad you figured out the birdcage." She tapped her finger against her chin in thought before standing from the bed.

She looked at Sebastian and nodded sending some sort of signal that I couldn't understand. He handed her a small bag, and she pushed me back into the bathroom. She pushed me onto into a sitting position on the toilet seat and opened the bag on the counter. "I know you're not about to do what I think you are?" She smiled and pulled a skin toned vial out of the bag.

When she was done with my makeup, I looked at myself in the mirror and gasped. My lips were cherry-red and I had the smoky-eye going on. When we walked out of the bathroom, Damian had woken up and was putting on his suit. When he turned to look at who opened the door, his mouth dropped. "R-Raven?" I nodded and blushed as Rose pushed past me to bring in the others.

I saw Jack enter, and I engulfed him in a hug. "Jack! You're alright!" He hugged me back with a laugh. "Yes, I'm fine." I released him and Damian grunted. I turned to look at him, "You look nice." Jack face-palmed and I smiled. "Thanks."

He tried to tie his tie, but it looked lopsided and twisted. I pushed his hands out of the way, and I could see that he was about to complain but shut his mouth. I retied the tie and straightened it in the front. "Thanks." I nodded and we all left the house to attend my funeral.
