"Rose's inspiration above"
7-16-13: Dear diary,
I think my house might be haunted. Since I got my ring from Mindy, I've noticed strange things here and there, but it's slowly getting worse. It's been a week since my birthday, and it's gotten to the point that I literally can't stand being in my house. That has got to stop.
---------------------------------------------
After I wrote this entry, I was proven once again that I was right. After I took my bath, I was greeted with an interesting note on the mirror in the steam.
GIVE US THE RING NOW!
Yep..... Super creepy. I quickly wiped off the mirror and finished getting ready for freedom, I mean, school. You know it has to be bad if you actually want to go to school.
After checking in on dad and grabbing breakfast, I rushed out of the hellhole we called home. Why is it that no one else notices the crazy junk that happens here? Are they blind? I mean really! Yesterday, I could have sworn that I'd seen a skeletal man sitting in the corner of the living room watching us. Not to mention it's always cold in the house. I looked back wearily at the house before running to school.
As I went through my classes, there was only one that I actually looked forward to. English. I took my usual seat, and as if I'd triggered something, Mindy started talking. "So, anything interesting today, Ray?" I laughed sarcastically. "Lately, there hasn't been anything that hasn't been interesting."
She raised her eyebrows and I stole a glance at Damian. As usual, he was drawing on his sketchbook. "Oh really? Like what?" I rolled my eyes. If I tell her that my house is haunted, would she think me crazy, or would that kind of thing be normal here? "Well....I think my house might be haunted."
Damian's desk squeaked as he moved for the first time this block. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him put his pencil down and turn an ear towards us in interest.
"Really?! Wow. Like what all happens? Do you see things? Do things move around like in movies?" It would be false hope to assume that she wasn't in the least bit interested. "No, more like notes on mirrors, figures on occasion, and cold spots." She grinned and leaned closer about to say something.
"Evans. Mathews. Is there something you would like to share with the class?" Mindy slumped back in her seat, so I answered for her. "No, Mrs. Thomas. Sorry." She straightened her glasses and continued her lesson. I let out a heavy breath and settled back into my seat.
After the bell rang, I left the class and found my locker on the other side of the school. "134...135...ah, 136." I dialed my combination and dropped my backpack into it. When I slammed the metal door closed, I nearly had a heart attack. I was met by Damian leaning against the wall of lockers on the other side of mine with his stunning eyes measuring my every move.
I caught my breath and leaned on the wall also. "Haunted, huh?" I nodded and continued to focus on steadying my breathing. "Do you mind if I come over and see for myself?" He wants to come to my house?! Damian Castellan?! "Um.....yes?" He smirked boyishly, "So you DO mind?" My jaw dropped, "N-no! That's not what I meant at all! I really don't mind if you come check it out." He smiled, "Good. How does seven sound?" All I could manage was a nod as he turned and walked away.
As soon as I was sure that he was gone, I ran home as quickly as possible, and when I made it up the steps of the house, I was met by a blue note with my dad's handwriting on it.
Raven,
I'm gone to Tulsa for groceries, seeing how this place doesn't have one. Strange, right? Anyways, food is in the microwave and "Who's Line is it Anyways?" is recorded on DVR.
-Dad
Great. I'm going to be home alone with Damian and the ghosts. This day both sucks and rocks.
After eating supper, someone knocked on the door making me jump. I peeked through the peep hole and opened the door. "Good evening. May I enter?" I showed him in and he looked around. Before I knew it, he was everywhere. He was upstairs one minute, and downstairs the next.
When he finally returned to the kitchen, he sat in the chair across from me. "Find anything?" He nodded absently and I grabbed the cup of coffee I'd made. He looked down at my hand, and I nearly spilled coffee everywhere when he snatched my hand. "Where did you get this?"
I took the cup with my other hand. "Mindy gave it to me for my birthday." He nodded. "Why are you so interested?" He glanced up at me for a second, "Interested in what?" He furrowed his brows. "In my house and my ring?" He smirked playfully, "It's nothing, really. Just common interest is all." He dropped my hand. "Oh....."
He seemed to notice my disappointment. "Would you like to go to Tulsa with my sister and I Friday? Rose wants to go roller skating." He didn't seem to like the idea himself, but I still accepted. "Good. I'll pick you up at six exactly. Make sure you're on the porch when we arrive." I nodded and led him outside.
When he left, I made sure to lock the door before heading upstairs to my room. Lately, that's the only room I'm comfortable with. It feels......safe.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Mindy's number. After a couple of rings, she finally answered.
"Hello? Raven, is that you?" I nodded, but remembered that she couldn't see it. "Yeah, it's me." I answered. "What's up? It must be good seeing as how you hardly call."
Yeah, that's pretty sad. "Yeah, I guess you could call it that. I was just invited to roller skating in Tulsa by Damian." She screamed in excitement and I had to hold the phone away from my ear.
"That's great! You're probably the only person that's ever gone out with him never more speak to him." Wow. He's never even spoken to anyone? Who is this guy?
I ended the conversation with a good-bye and hung up. I changed into my pajamas and quickly fell asleep on my queen sized bed.
------------------------------------------------ So, is her life weird or what? I also think she may have a crush, but who knows? Comment and vote and let me know what ya think.
