Ella’s POV

My eyes darted around the room, looking at the mess. I heard Ana sigh softly next to me and walk over to one of the spilled bags of popcorn. My mind was off in different directions as I grabbed a trash bag and held it out to her. She smiled gratefully up at me and took it, shoving the bits of popcorn bag and kernels into it. I sat down next to her on the couch and gently grabbed her hand, stopping her from cleaning. “Ana. Chill out. You look like you’re about to blow a gasket.” Her startling blue eyes were dark, anger and rage deep inside their core. She pulled her hand away, going back to working. Anger and hurt swelled up inside me as I felt her anger shoot toward me through her eyes. “Ana! What is wrong with you?! What have I done?!”

She gritted her teeth; I could practically hear them grinding together. “Just don’t talk to me El. I’m really not in the mood.” I stood up, tears welling up in my eyes.

“Fine. Be that way….I’ll just leave you alone.” I dramatically threw my trash bag down and stormed into the kitchen and outside. I didn’t hear her follow me, so I pulled out my phone. I scrolled through the names till I found Jason, my gay best friend. Yeah, I know that sounds odd, but gay guys are awesome friends. I pressed call and listened to his newly set song, Dirty Little Secret by the All American Rejects.

“Hello?”

His voice snapped me out of my foggy state of shock as I told him everything that had happened. I finished up my story and waited for his response, but heard none. “Jason?” I said, cautiously. I heard laughter on the other end and then a sound like a body hitting the floor.

“Look what you’ve done J!” I heard a semi-deep voice in the background. “I’m here. Sorry…I’ve gotta, oh, friend over.”

I giggled softly. “Go back to your boyfriend, Jayce, I don’t care. I’ll call someone else.” I hung up and searched through my contacts again, calling up Jewel. She agreed to pick me up, so I texted Ana. “I’ve got to go A. I’ll see you l8er.” I felt a tear slide down my cheek, not realizing I’d been crying. As soon as Jewel pulled into Ana’s drive way, I jumped in, telling her to take me home. She had a quizzical look on her face, but didn’t say anything. I had no clue if it was good or bad, but I didn’t give a crap. I just needed to get away from there. The last thing I remember was the screeching of tires and a series of loud crashes before everything went dark.
