Chapter One
“Monday. My favorite day of the week,” Thought Ana. She slowly got out of bed and over to one of the boxes in her room. They still hadn’t finished unpacking from their move from Hollywood, Cali to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She rooted through one of the boxes and pulled out her favorite pair of skinny jeans. She dug through another box and found one of her few long sleeved shirts. She slipped out of her silk pajamas and struggled into the jeans.
“Those look a little small, don’t they?” Ana jumped as her older sister, Athena, walked into her room. Ana rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue. “What? I’m just saying. You don’t want to look like a slut on your first day of school, do you?” Athena shook her head and grabbed one of the boxes.
“I’m not going to look like a slut. I’m wearing a long sleeved shirt. It’s to freaking cold here to wear less than ten layers.” She slipped on the white shirt and got her black leather jacket out of her closet to put on over it. “What are you doing Thena? This is MY room after all.” She walked over to her mirror, and raised her eyebrow at her sister.
“I’m trying to find my Ann Taylor sundress I got for Aria’s graduation. You know, the pink and black one?”
Ana nodded. “Check with mom. I thought I saw it in her closet or something.” Athena smiled and half skipped and half walked out of the room.
Ana rolled her eyes and got out her makeup, sorting through it. “I have no makeup.” She complained to herself, sorting through her over-priced makeup she had gotten for her 14th birthday. After she put on her makeup, she looked herself over in the mirror one more time. She made a face and brushed her messy, long, straight, blonde hair into a high ponytail and topped it off with a thick white headband. She grabbed her Coach purse from her closet and grabbed her books before heading downstairs to the kitchen.
“Good morning mom.” She said dully. “Good morning Ana!” Her mother, Lisa, sang in a little-too-happy voice. Ana rolled her eyes. Her mom could be such an airhead sometimes. She finished her usual protein shake and went back to her bedroom for her super high converse high-tops.
As she laced them up, Athena yelled from the kitchen, “Whoever wants a ride to school better get their butts out here.”
Ana grabbed her phone and iPod and sauntered downstairs. Her twin brother, Mason, came downstairs right behind her. “You look like a hobo,” Ana scoffed at him.
He mocked smiled and flipped her off, going out to Athena’s car. Ana sighed and checked the mirror one more time before going out to the car. “Here comes Hell.” She silently thought.
