For the next Four days Arthur did not visit, not even once. Merlin had started recovering well, he was not healed fully, but the bleeding had stopped and he could walk around just fine, as long as it was not for too long.
------
It was dark outside as Arthur was still sitting in his Kingly chair in the throne room, contemplating on what to do. It wasn't too late at night, but just late enough that most of the residents in the castle were sleeping.
"Guards," yelled Arthur fiercely.
The guards who were outside the doors came in and walked to their king.
"Go to Gaius' chambers and ask for my manservant Merlin. Bring him to me and then you may be dismissed. Do not be outside these throne room doors after he comes in, go off to your own chambers and get some rest."
One of the Knights bravely spoke up before being interrupted by Arthur, "But sire-,"
"Enough, not another word from either one of you, do as you are told," said Arthur gripping the edges of his chair more intensely than before. His rage quickly ended and he relaxed again, leaning back in his chair getting into a more comfortable position.
The Knights just bowed and left the throne room. They left Arthur with an evil smirk on his face.
The Knights came up to Gaius' chambers and knocked on the door.
"The king requests Merlin's presence," one of the Knights said through the door.
Merlin opened the door, and followed the Knights as they lead him to the throne room, he didn't ask any questions. Two Knights got to their own side of the door and opened it for him. When he walked inside there was no one there but Arthur, sitting there quietly in his chair.
When the doors slammed shut Merlin jumped a little as it startled him. He was a few feet away from Arthur before he spoke.
"You sent for me Arthur?" Merlin said calmly.
"Yes," Arthur replied just as he got up from his chair. He started pacing back and forth on his platform.
He soon stopped after a few moments and walked down the few steps that brought himself to be standing right in front of Merlin. Then all of a sudden Arthur threw a right hook into the left side of Merlin's face. The force of the hit caused Merlin to swing over onto the ground face down.
"That, is for all the times you addressed me as Arthur, you only get to call me Sire."
Merlin used one of his elbows to help him pick his chest up from the ground a little, he spit blood out from his mouth, landing in front of himself. Merlin brought his right knee up close to his elbow and straightened his arms about to get up again but before he could Arthur kicked his ribs hard, causing him to flip over onto his back. Arthur's foot almost hit the spot where Mordred had stabbed him but fortunately it didn't. The force of the kick caused Merlin to start coughing.
"That was for all the times you considered yourself an equal to me," said Arthur.
Merlin's body laid limb on the ground as one of Arthur's feet stepped to the other side of Merlin's body. He kneeled down over Merlin's waist. One leg on each side of Merlin's body. Merlin couldn't use magic to get Arthur to stop, this act would just cause Arthur to to find out he is a sorcerer and put him on a pyre.
Merlin just stared at Arthur, barely able to move.
"Arthur," Merlin managed to say, "thi-this isn't you."
"This is me, Merlin, this is the real me, I just haven't had the guts to tell you the truth." Arthur managed to say. Arthur raised his right arm and formed his hand into a fist then punched Merlin's face again.
"That is for being a terrible Servant."
He then switched hands and punched the other side of Merlin's face.
"That was for every time you stood up to me."
"W-we are friends Arthur, why w-would you do this?" Merlin said gasping for breath.
Arthur laughed at what Merlin said. "Hah, friends? We were never friends, you were never my friend and you never will be." Said Arthur and then he repeatedly punched Merlin in the face a few more times rotating between each cheek.
Arthur grabbed the front collar of Merlin's shirt, bringing his friend a little closer to him. He then gave one last blow to Merlin, it was an uppercut punch which slammed Merlin in the Jaw, which jerked his head back landing it hard on the ground.
"For every wrongful act you've done towards me," said Arthur as he got up from practically being on top of Merlin, "It's considered Treason, and I condemn you to death." Arthur then walked over to his chair to grab his sword. Merlin tilted his head slightly to his side, his eyes flashed gold and he sent a vase from the corners of the room flying to meet the back of Arthur's head. It hit Arthur just enough to make him pass out. Arthur's body collapsed to the ground looking lifeless but he was still breathing, Merlin made sure of that.
When He realized that the threat was over for now, he slowly turned over onto his stomach. He put one hand in front of the other and practically dragged himself to the double doors. He reached to grab a hold of the door knob and picked up one leg, helping himself up to stand.
His arms were shaking as he opened one of the doors and stepped out. The guards that brought him in before were no where to be seen. He was all over the place, looking like a drunk as he made his way towards Gauis' chambers. He wouldn't be able to make it in time so he went to the closest room he could find that he knew the person living there. Merlin banged on the door as hard as he could with one hand while his other was over his ribs, Arthur had to have atleast broken a few. Merlin's face was full of cuts and blood, he could tell his nose and cheeks had to be broken in a few places. The pain was unbearable but it was hard for him to moan. Both eyes would soon become black eyes. The door to Gwaine's chambers opened, Gwaine's eyes widened in shock.
"Who is it Gwaine?" Asked Percival from inside. Gwaine's Knight friends were there, Percival and Leon.
"Guys get over here quick," said Gwaine in worry. The other Knights rushed over and their jaws dropped just as Gwaine's did when he first laid eyes on Merlin.
"Help me get him to Gaius' chambers," said Gwaine as he carefully picked up Merlin from under his arms. Percival got his feet and Leon supported more on Gwaine's side.
They were practically running towards Gaius' chambers, "Merlin who did this to you?" Asked Leon worriedly.
Merlin finally let out a moan, he couldn't talk, his lips were cut up and swollen.
