"You say, the Lightning bolt wasn't it's normal white?"
"Yes."
"That's certainly peculiar... What color did you say it was?"
"Blue."
"Hm." Gaius contemplated his story for a second. "Either my ward really did die, or Merlin walked away right after you left, only for it to have been a coincidence that the lightning hit the same spot Merlin was in."
"Then why isn he here?" Arthur asked worriedly.
"Because sire, maybe Merlin isn't ready to come back just yet. You told me he said he was leaving, did you not?"
"Well yes, but-"
Before Arthur could finish, the door burst open and a panting Merlin came through the door.
"Merlin!" Arthur yelled with a big smile plastered across his face. He made his way over to his friend and placed a hand on his wet shoulder. "We were worried sick!"
"Why are you wearing my clothes?" Merlin asked Arthur with a confused look on his face.
"Y-your clothes? These are my clothes!" Arthur exclaimed.
"Well, I guess whatever's mine is yours, and you do look really handsome in my shirt." Merlin said with a mischievous grin
which caused Arthur to quickly remove his hand from his friends shoulder.
"Excuse me? D-did you just call me ha-handsome?"
"Yes," Merlin answered hesitantly, "I've told you, you were handsome plenty of times before, and you've never questioned me about it till now. Are you feeling okay?" He raised his hand and put it against Arthur's forehead but the king quickly pushed it away.
"Woah." Merlin said as he looked down at himself. "Did we accidentally put on each other's clothes after we made love this afternoon?"
Gaius dropped the glass vile that was in his hands after hearing Merlin's words about making love with Arthur.
Merlin quickly snapped his gaze up to Gaius who was staring at him in shock.
"What?" Said Merlin as he then glanced over at Arthur who also was in the same predicament. "I thought you told him about the affair."
"Affair?" Asked Arthur sounding disgusted. "I'm not cheating on Guinevere."
"Of course not, I'm cheating on Guinevere." Merlin replied with his eyebrows furrowed together.
"You? I'm married to Guinevere, so it would be my affair if I was cheating on her, which I'm not."
"Guinevere is my wife Arthur, what are you talking about?"
"Excuse me!" Arthur yelled, "I am the King, and Guinevere is my Queen."
"No!" Merlin yelled back, "I am the King and Guinevere is my queen, well not for long, because I promised you that I would end it with her tomorrow morning."
"Your crazy!" Screamed Arthur, "I'm the king not you, your just a mere servant."
"Um, no Arthur, I am not, I am the king of Camelot, and you are my manservant, we are in love and I am currently married to Guinevere, which I soon won't be once I annul our marriage."
"What! What nonsense are you speaking of? We are not in love!"
"Sire?" Gaius said interrupting them.
"What!" Both Merlin and Arthur yelled in unison.
Both boys gave mocking glares to each other before glancing back at the physician.
"Merlin, you say your the king of Camelot, correct?" Gaius asked.
"Yes... I don't just say, I am." Merlin replied crossing his arms over his chest.
"And Arthur here, is your manservant?"
"Yes!" Merlin yelled.
"Who was your father?"
"Balinor."
"What!" Screamed Arthur, "Balinor was your father?"
"Yes Arthur, everyone knows that, he was king before me."
"No, Uther was king before me." Arthur said defensively.
"Uther? That dragon lord that you cried like a girl over?"
"Dragon lord?! My father was the king of Camelot! Who despised magic and all magical beings, he certainly was never a dragon lord, Balinor was."
"My father, was never a dragon lord, he was king."
"Okay stop!" Gaius yelled.
Both boys stopped arguing and looking at Gaius shocked. They had never heard him use that type of tone before.
"Merlin," Gaius said softly, "who is Emrys to you?"
"I have never heard that name before, why? should I?"
Gaius looked into Merlin's eyes and realized he was telling the truth.
"I know what's wrong."
"What?" Arthur asked.
"This is not our Merlin."
