I fell backwards a little, suddenly dizzy but Luke caught me by the waist and managed to hold me upright.

"You're Riley?" I repeated. "I thought that whole thing was a joke." She sort of looked offended as I told her this and I screamed at myself internally for being so rude.

"Yeah, I'm Riley. How do you know?" It all made sense now. Everything made sense.

"I- My dad- He told me." I, for whatever reason, struggled to get this sentence out. "I didn't believe him. I thought he was joking." People where starting to stare and I realized we where starting to draw attention to ourselves. Luke realized too and dragged us to the seating attached to the wall.

"What did he tell you?" She asked nervously and began to bounce her leg up and down.

"He was drunk- and he told me he had another daughter. I thought he was just kidding. He was pissed and saying all sorts of gobbledygook. He was getting confused, mixing me and my brother up. Talking about a girl. I thought he was just confused and I ignored it."

"I'm your half sister, I've been trying to track your- our father down for years. " When she said we where sisters, it did make sense. Although my facial features where much like my mothers, we both had the same color of hair and where built the same. The tiny details we had where the same. Like the freckle on our left cheek and the shape of our hands.

"How did you find us?" I asked. My hands where shaky and my legs trembled, I wasn't sure how to feel and Luke's reassuring touch on my shoulder calmed me only a little.

"Well it wasn't easy. You guys apparently moved around a lot. Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, I hit a dead end. My mother didn't tell me much. Only that he was Canadian and he was working in Sweden when they got together."
"If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" I asked.

"I'm twenty-eight." She replied. Oh, thank god. Finding out you have another sibling is hard enough, but finding out it was an affair would've been harder to swallow. That's what she said. Ugh, Mila, not the fucking time. "I eventually found records- as in records of births and deaths- that sort of thing. And then I could find out at least whether or not I had someone I could contact- or if he was even still alive. So the way it is nowadays, I scoured thousands of social media pages trying to find anything. I found your page and I thought there was a little resemblance between us and that was the only lead I'd had, and so I flew out to Australia after reading on you're Facebook profile that that's where you lived. I knew it was a long shot but there was just something about it that felt right. So I tracked down all the 'Mills' living in the area- it's a surprisingly uncommon name. And then I used the online data to try and find any address I could. I couldn't find any address so I looked for possibly rentals or apartment buildings. I found your apartment block and then buzzed the button that said 'Mills/Gilbert' and then I asked your friend if I was at the right place. She told me you where at the movies or something. So I drove to the nearest movie theater and hoped you where there."

"Damn, you should be on the CIA, or some shit. That's some good quality stalking." I was pretty weirded out by the lengths she'd went but at the same time, I understood her desperation. She laughed at my comment.

"I wanted to find my family- and I also needed to ask a few questions."

"Look, maybe we should go back to my parents house. It will be easier to sort out if everyone is together." I suggested. "Do you have a car?"
"Yeah, I rented one."
"Okay. Follow me and I'll take you to my parents house." We agreed on this and she followed me out into the parking lot and went away to find her car. "Luke, are you coming?" I asked him. Or pleaded. I needed moral support.
