Sunday morning never felt so good when you wake up to the smell of freshly made pancakes and a snoring Luke beside you. Rolling over, I sat up on the edge of the bed and stretched; my back cracked and Luke groaned with disgust into his pillow. I giggled and he grabbed me by the waist; pulling me back under the sheets, kissing my neck and cheeks with sleepy, closed eyes.
"I hear ya'll giggling in there!" Gloria shouted from the kitchen and Luke chuckled as he nuzzled into my neck. Gloria always butting her damn nose in where it ain't needed. The sun shone through the cheap curtains and illuminated the room with yellow and pink; traces of last night placed around the room. Pulling myself up from the bed, I wandered into my bathroom and took a look at myself in the mirror. The morning felt good but I certainly didn't look it. My hair was all stuck up like a birds nest so I took to that with a harsh brush and gave my face a wash, as well as brushing my teeth. Luke walked in as I was tying my hair up into a messy bun and smiled at me.
"Morning." He said in his croaky morning voice and stood at the sink beside me. "Any chance you've got a spare toothbrush?" I nodded and bent down to open up the cupboard under the sink. Bulk buying really came in handy. I pulled out a purple toothbrush and handed it to Luke to which he proceeded to brush his teeth and then was his face. We walked through to the open plan living area where Gloria was standing with her current boyfriend Chad, making pancakes.
"G'morning." Gloria chirped as she flipped a pancake in the pan. "Have a good time yesterday?" Her back was turned but I could still feel the smirk she had on her face. I could tell it was awkward for Luke and Chad to be like hi I slept with your girlfriends room-mate, morning to you too, so we sat down on the couch and turned the TV on.
"Gloria, I want some of those pancakes." I stated as I curled up under Luke's arm on the sofa. "They smell amazing."
"Pancakes by G-Dog coming right up." She danced around the kitchen and appeared in front of us with two plates of delicious, golden pancakes dressed in maple syrup and strawberries. My mouth watered at the sight of them. She handed us both a plate and we dug in graciously. They where finished in a matter of minutes.
"Well we gotta go. But you guys stay safe." Gloria grinned as her and Chad left us alone in the apartment. I swear that girl is only here to make sure I get laid once in a while.
"She's interesting." Luke stated innocently as the door slammed shut behind them.
"That's just Gloria." I replied. Luke stared at me for a few moments before licking his lips and leaning down towards my face. I think we all know what happens next. We made out until I was straddling his lap and he was gripping onto my thighs.
"Hey Mila, are you home-" I jumped off Luke's lap as Mason burst into our apartment but stopped at the sight of a breathless Luke on my sofa. Why everybody got to interrupt every damn thing. "Oh." I glanced from Luke to Mason, and from Mason to Luke as we all just kind of stood awkwardly taking in the situation.
"I'm going to take a shower." Luke bolted from the sofa and into my room, the door firmly shut behind him. After a few moments the sound of the shower could be heard from my bathroom.
"What the fuck?" Mason hissed at me as he sat himself down on one of the breakfast bar stools. "What the hell is he doing here? I came to visit and I find you shagging in your living room with Luke Hemmings. You should be ashamed; I've sat on that sofa."
"We were simply enjoying each others company." I defended as I put the kettle on; knowing Mason would want a drink of coffee after the sight he'd just witnessed. "We were not shagging in my living room." I poured the boiling water into a mug and stirred the coffee before pushing it towards him.
"Well when someone is bouncing up and down on my lap; that tends to be what's happening." Mason said as he took a sip of his freshly brewed drink.
"Mason!" I spluttered at the crudeness of his sentence. "We where just kissing, that's all."
"Well anyway it doesn't matter." He spun himself round to face me. "I've came because Drew told me what happened between you two."
"Well Drew can take it and shove it up his backside."
"Literally."
"Mason, you need to wash your mouth out with soap." I seethed and he laughed.
"Well he seems to think that it was some kind of reconciliation between you two. That you might get back together?"
"I don't want to get back together."
"Why'd you have sex then?"
"Because I'm a consenting adult and I wanted to."
"Hmm." Was all Mason replied.
"Anyway, I have bigger issues. I apparently have a long lost sister who's came out of the woodwork." Mason choked on his coffee.
"What?"
"It's true. She bombarded me at the movies yesterday, turns out she's my half sister."
"Holy shit." Mason replied.
"Holy shit indeed." As I said this Luke came out my room fully dressed.
"I'm just going to shoot off now." He told me and headed towards the door. "Nice seeing you again Mason." He said awkwardly.
"You too." Mason replied, sipping on his coffee and trying not to look confused by the whole situation. I followed Luke to the door and we stepped outside the apartment.
"How are you going to get home?" I asked him, leaning against the door frame.
"Calum is coming to pick me up." He informed me. " I had a really good time with you." He took my hand and held it in his. "I'll text you later, okay?" I nodded, trying not to let the butterflies in my stomach get to me. He leaned in and gave me another kiss, then kissed me on the head before letting go of my hand and trotting off down the stairs in his little black jacket and shoes; always looking cool as fuck. I watched him go before heading back into the apartment and shutting the door behind me.
"I'll text you later." Mason mocked as I sat back down beside him.
"Fuck off." I laughed. "Mason, I'm not kidding. He's really changed. Luke is honestly the nicest guy now."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever makes you happy. Just don't come crawling to me when he breaks your heart." I was about to reply to his snarky comment when a knock at the door came. For fuck sake, who is it now? I sighed heavily as I opened the door only to find my red, puffy eyed little brother standing in front of me.
"Matias? What are you doing here?" I grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him in for a hug. "What's wrong?" He sobbed into my shoulder and I pulled him into the apartment.
"I've run away." He sobbed as I guided him to a seat and he collapsed over the breakfast bar.
"From where?" I asked. Mason sat beside my brother and attempted to comfort him by patting his back.
"Home. I can't believe they never told us Riley was real." He sobbed.
"Oh, Matty. They didn't tell us because I don't think they knew themselves. They hadn't been in touch with her for over twenty years. They couldn't find her. I didn't think it was something they had intentionally kept from us."
"All the same, I can't go back there." My brother had always been a little over dramatic when he was upset. "Can I stay here?"
"Of course you can." I hugged him and kissed him on the head. Better go text my mother.
