Chapter 4

It's been 3 and half years since I saw Michael last. But right now I'm Calafornia again. Visiting my parents, they really seem to be able to entertain my little girl.
She smiles at me and I smile back.
"Mama?" She asks
"Yeah Jessy?" I ask
"Where is Uncle Sam?" She asks
"He's coming." I smile and kiss her head and she continues to play.
Sam walks into the room and sees me. He drops his phone and runs to me
"Laura!" He exclaims
"Hey Sam" I laugh and he sees Jessica
"Who is she?" He whispers in my ear
"I'll be right back Jessica" I inform and walk out of the room with Sam
"She's my daughter. When I left it was because of something that happened." I begin to start explaining what happened and he growls and his wolf tries to take control.
"Sam." I say and he comes back but still growls
"I'm gonna pound him!" He grumbles and I sigh and walk back in.
"Well we should probably start our ride home." I suggest and lift Jessica of the ground.
"I suppose." My mom sighs and I say goodbye to all of them and so does Jessica.
Jessica has dark brown hair like mine but her father's eyes. She prefers to be called Jessy though.
"Let's go then Sweetie." I say and strap her into her car seat.
An hour later my stomach grumbles and Jessy whines
"Mama. I'm hungry." She whimpers and I nod.
"Ok sweetheart we will stop as soon as possible." I explain and she agrees
30 later I get out the car and tie Jessy's dark brown wavy hair that goes down to the middle of her chest up into a pony tail.
"Ok." I smile and her pink skirt flaps in the wind but her pink shirt with a cat on it doesn't move.
Michael POV:
It's been 3 and something years since I saw Laura. I haven't taken it well. I have regretted my decision for ages and I've been looking everywhere for her.
It's as if she's a ghost.
I spend all my time at work or locked up in my office.
I have to deal with a neighboring pack that wants to take our territory.
Jake met his mate 3 weeks ago and spends most of his time with her. I'm pretty sure they're going to have a pup soon. I try to keep my mind away from mates.
For obvious reasons.
"Ok Michael. Tell us what's up." Michaels father opened
the door with Michaels mother next to him
"Nothing. I'm just working on the pack problems." I grunt and stick my nose back I the mountains of paperwork
"Your 22 don't you think you should find a mate?" My father suggests I just couldn't tell him that I have. But rejected her.
I decide to go to a nearby Nevada pack to join forces and stop this other pack.
"No dad." I growl and leave the house and get in my car along with Jack, Jake, and my betas: June and Dave
"Let's go." I say and we begin to get to Nevada on time.
I'm beginning to get hungry so we stop at a diner and I think I smell something.
ROSES!
'MATE!' My wolf jumps in joy but I don't seem to see Laura anywhere.
Then I do.
"Laura..." I whisper and I tell the rest of my team to stay in the car leaving me and only me in the diner.
"Laura?" I say and walk over to her.
She seems frightened of me.
'Well what do you expect?'
My wolf snorts at me.
Then I see a little girl around 3 siting next to her.
Laura then hides her in the crook of her neck
"Laura?" I ask once more. But this time I get a reply.
"Michael." She whispers and I can tell both our wolves are happy.
"Is she mine." I growl but don't mean to
Laura whimpers in shock.
"Is she mine." I say more normally
"Y-yes." She whispers and I grab her hand
"Your coming with me." I growl.
'WE ARE NOT LOSING HER!' My wolf growled
"No!" Laura squeaks
"Why not." I snarl
"I have a life in Nevada! I have a job and she goes to school!" She whimpers
"We'll get you a new job and a new school." I whimper
"No." She growls
"Just come with me." I plead and our daughter looks at her
"One night." Laura grumbles and let's me take her to the car.
"We can take your car and my pack can take mine." I say
