The Bentley stopped in front of the entrance of the mansion. They got out of the car along with the stuff and made their way inside. Darshan went ahead to reverse and park the car at a distance while the two of them scrunched their eyes under the harsh sunlight while taking the steps up.
"You two are back. I'll ask them to heat up the breakfast, go change and freshen up." They were greeted with Sharmila sitting on the couch lazily filing her nails. She wasn't going to work today it seemed. Sonali waved her hand to not let her get up. "I'll take care of it, mom."
"No need. I'll take my leave now, it's already late. I'll eat in the cafeteria later." Shaurya said simultaneously while handing over the bags of sweets to Sonali who in return shook her head and muttered. "No, it's too late already. Come on, I'll also pack something."
Sharmila smiled to herself and watched the two of them walking closely and talking as they made their way to the dining table.
Shaurya eventually sat down on the chair and poured himself a glass of orange juice while Sonali quickly pulled out a transparent tiffin box and packed the already sliced fruits that were kept on the table. Sharmila couldn't see what Shaurya's face looked like at the moment but the way he obediently sat there and waited for the box to be handed over seemed adorable.
"Wait." Sonali stopped him from even standing up once he'd taken a hold of the tiffin.
Amused by her actions, Shaurya sat back down only to get more surprised when she stood in front of him and instructed to look up. Sonali held up her thumb over his nose, rubbing and held his chin with her other hand to keep his face in place while wiping off the red trail mark that'd been on his nose all this time.
Her cheeks flamed because of how intensely he was staring at her face.
"Is it a show for mom?" He couldn't help but ask, his hand going around her waist instinctively when she stepped closer. Sonali rolled her eyes in response, too flustered to even resist and get away.
She didn't have an answer herself either, she had moved close even before she could have thought about what she was trying to do.
"I'll take that as a no. So, is it the answer I've been looking forward to?" Shaurya smiled cheekily while pulling her even more closer. Sonali pressed her thumb over his perked up nose, her other hand taking off his glasses in the process. She said,"Take the inch you're given, don't run after a mile immediately."
"I am but a greedy person, you see." Shaurya murmured and closed his eyes when her fingers shaped up the tilak between his brows a little. Once done, she patted on his hand that loosened away easily from her waist and she stepped back. "I'm no different when it comes to greed. Have a good day."
