The day was sunny and not as cold as yesterday. It seemed by the way she felt the warmth surrounding her, the sun was right outside the window. After sleeping throughout the day she sighed tiredly looking at the clock.
Sonali lazily went downstairs. There was still some time left for Shaurya to come back home but luckily Sharmila and Shailesh had come back already.
She has been spending time at home given she'd fallen sick and then there was also a relapse condition of her migraine which had to be kept in check with increased dosage now. Shaurya had strictly denied any bargain over the matter until she was stabilized.
Knocking on the open door of their room, she pushed aside the curtains on hearing Shailesh asking her to come in.
“Are you two busy?” She walked inside the room.
“Not at all. Come, sit with us.” Shailesh chipped with a smile.
Sonali was clad in a super fluffy co-ord set of warm pajamas. She wiped away the trickling feeling she felt in her nose with the handkerchief she had in her hand and made her way towards the bed.
“I felt a little stuffy in the room.” Sonali said, not at all realizing she'd just whined it out instead. She sat closely beside Sharmila on the bed and curled her legs up just like the other two and quietly watched Shailesh roll the dice on the Ludo board.
“Is the fever down now?” Sharmila asked, reaching out to touch her head, feeling relieved to find the temperature normal. “Do you want to go out for a stroll in the garden? You'll feel better.”
“No, it's cold outside and my headache isn't getting any better.” Sonali scrunched her nose in complaint and let Sharmila push her head onto her lap. “Don’t take medicines anymore. I'll give you a champi in a while.”
Sonali, although stayed a little stiff with the endearing action of Sharmila, she couldn't help but feel mushy and emotional. She made herself comfortable and watched the two play, rooting for Sharmila against Shailesh, who in turn only showed how sour he was with losing his pawns.
She reminisced the old memories of the similar situations from her past when she'd spent time with her own parents. Although Shatrughan used to be a busy man, the weekends used to be their family time. Even Anik used to stay for a day or two at home every other week in those days.
Sharmila and Shailesh have been nothing but supportive and caring. She was always left speechless whenever Sharmila used to take her along with her to her own meet and greets or when Shailesh would invite her for his charity committee gatherings.
“Dad, don't cheat. It doesn't count.” Sonali chuckled watching the two bicker over whether the six on the dice outside the board area counts or not.
