"Bye!" My best friend, Taylor, called as we parted our separate ways. I skipped down the street, no cars in view, the bright sun shining down on me. I had my lunch in one hand, and my umbrella in the other. It was raining this morning, and it caught me by surprise when I walked out the doors of my kindergarten class to see nothing but a beautiful blue sky and no grey clouds.
I kept skipping, humming a song along the way until I stopped dead in my tracks. I didn't think this would be anywhere on this street. This street is the street I've been walking for a long time.
I bent down, looking at my reflection upon the big deep puddle of rain water, and then my eyes went to my new shoes. I sighed as I came up with only one solution, which was try and jump. But I knew I wouldn't make it.
Just then, a hand holding a pair of blue rain boots was handed to me. I looked to the source to find that it was Louis. A kid from my class. He pushed the boots towards my chest when I refused to take it.
I decided to give in, slowly taking the boots in my hands.
He smiled a cheeky smile before running and jumping over the puddle. He ran down the street before stopping to look back.
I send him a heart warming smile which he quickly returns before continuing to run to wherever he was going.
15 years later...
Our laughs filled the room at the scene of Mr. Bean stealing an old woman's electric wheelchair and rode off.
"Oh my god, I love this movie." I say in between laughs.
We continue laughing through the whole movie. By the end we're left with boring end credits and music.
"Oh yeah," I remember my dream, that just happened to be a memory if something from long ago, I had last night. "Wait here. I'll be right back." I smile and peck his cheek before running up the stairs and to my room.
I barge into my closet, picking up the oh so familiar pair of blue boots up off the floor in the corner of my closet. I sprint out the closet, out my room, and down the stairs back to Louis who had now changed the channel to a football game.
"Here." I hold out the rain boots out in his face to block his view of the game and focus on the boots.
"Oh my god, I remember this! This was 15 years ago!" he laughs as he holds the small boots in his hands.
"What and I supposed to do with it? I'm 21 now, I can't fit these." He laughs.
"I don't know. Keep it, as a memory of our childhood." I smile and plop myself down onto the couch next to him. He sets the boots on the coffee table and turns to me with a seductive smile.
"I just might do that." He whispers in my ear as his weight begins to push me down to the arm of the couch. My hands immediately go to his chest where I try to push him off, laughing as he nibbles on my neck.
His lips part from my neck and our lips connect immediately and I smile in the kiss.
"How long have we been together?" I ask with a smile as I pull away from his luscious lips that I wish I could press mine upon all day.
"Hmm..." he sits up as slouches over while sitting cross cross apple sauce, putting a finger on his chin, looking up at the ceiling.
"Lou, please tell me you didn't forget." I laugh as I sit up and place my hands on his knees.
"Of course not!" he looks at me like I'm crazy and pushes me back down to be on top of me.
His lips get closer to mine as it slightly touches mine causing me to crave for his lips.
"6 years." He whispers before pressing his lips against mine.
It's true. We've been together since we were 15. We've known each other for longer. Through everything we've been through, fights, separation, and many more problems and being able to over come them only makes me look at him in one way.
As the love of my life.
