For once, Chara woke up before Frisk. They could rarely sleep anyway, with what was on their mind. Frisk. Their love for Frisk. And how stupid it was. And how embarrassing it would be when Chara confessed.

Chara sighed, and carefully got out of bed, having to maneuver around Frisk. They made their way to the kitchen, passing Toriel, whom was relaxing in her chair, reading a book and drinking from a mug. "Awake so soon?" She asked.

"Yup." Chara answered simply, instantly going to the refrigerator, grabbing the bar of chocolate they had saved. If there were ever a time they desperately needed it, it was now. They made their way back to their room, attempting to eat the chocolate, but, since it had been in the refrigerator for so long, it ended up chipping their tooth.

"Fuck!" Chara hissed, fiddling with the tooth. It wasn't badly chipped, but it was chipped enough that it hurt when it was touched. They growled at themself, walking back into their room, where Frisk sat awake.

"Mom coulda heard you." They said.

"I could've killed you." They both froze at the statement, Chara instantly regretting it. Smooth, you idiot. Chara thought to themself.

"Jeez, why you gotta be so dark?" Frisk asked, breaking the awkward silence, "I was just messing with you."

Chara sighed, "I know." They sat beside Frisk on the bed, twirling the chocolate bar in their hand. Now, they were a little afraid to take a bite again, in fear of not only upsetting the currently chipped tooth, but in making another appear.

"Finally eating that chocolate bar, huh?"

"Yeah..."

Frisk noticed their tone. "Something up?"

Chara sighed, then took a bite out of the chocolate bar, taking caution to avoid the chipped tooth. "Nah." They didn't want Frisk to worry. After all, it was no big deal.

"Well, we should get going. Back to Hotland, I mean. Unless, you still want a break from Mettaton."

"The sooner we get it over with, the better." Chara stood. Really, they just wanted something to take their mind off their current thoughts.

"Oh, and do you wanna take your scarf? We do have to cut through Snowdin."

"I can probably handle it now."

"You sure...? I don't want you getting all sick again..."

"I'm not gonna die, Frisk!" Chara hissed, memories of Asriel being just as worried as Frisk flooding their mind. "I promise I'll be fine."

Frisk went silent at Chara's outburst. Then, they retaliated. "Why are you yelling at me?! I just don't want you to get hurt! You're very precious to me, in case you didn't know!" Frisk wasn't afraid to admit how they felt about someone.

Chara envied that. "Well that's not my fault! You need to find people worthy of being 'precious'!"

Frisk was taken aback. "Wh...what do you mean?"

Chara sighed. "Why do you think I went back to Waterfall? Yes, it's my favorite area, but the real reason I went back was to get my knife. Because I feel uncomfortable without it. Vulnerable. But with that knife in my hand, I feel unstoppable. Powerful. I could've easily taken it, killed one single Moldbygg, and gone genocide. Ruin your pacifist run. Simply from that one burst of power. I could've killed everyone. I could've killed Papyrus, I could've killed Mom... I could've killed you."

Frisk stared at them. "You couldn't kill Toriel if you tried."

"I killed Asriel. You don't know what I'm capable of."

"You...you didn't kill Asriel."

Chara sighed. "Don't you remember what Asriel told you when he broke the barrier?"

When Chara and I combined our souls together, the control over our body was actually split between us.... And when we got to the human village, they were the one who wanted to...use our full power.

"But he refused." Chara continued after giving Frisk a moment to remember. "It was stupid of me to think he would do something like that. He is the precious one. Not me." They looked down at the crushed chocolate bar in their hand. "...I have something I need to do."

They began to make their way out of the room, but Frisk grabbed their shoulder, "I am not leaving you alone again."

"Give it a rest!" Chara hissed, "I still don't understand how you're able to put on this 'true pacifist' schtick, but I'm getting tired of it. I know you wanna kill me because I wanna kill myself! Now let me go!"

"Ch-Char..." Frisk trailed off, tears staining their vision. Slowly, they released Chara, letting them storm off.

***************holy FUCK shit is going down********************************

After returning from Waterfall, Chara came back towards the area between Snowdin and the Ruins, running into Sans. "Hiya kiddo." The skeleton asked in his raspy but deep voice. "Somethin' wrong?" He noticed they didn't meet his eyes.

Chara didn't answer, head still tilted downward. They then swung their knife, the skeleton's reflexes kicking in as he dodged it. His right eye socket lost its white dot as the left eye socket became illuminated by a blue glow. "What're you doin', kiddo?" Sans asked before Chara charged, swinging at him once again. He dodged. "I don't wanna hurt ya. Somethin' achin'?"

Chara growled, then mumbled something. "Come again?" Sans asked.

"I said..." Chara spoke louder, then looked up, revealing the wide smile on their face, "Remember when we killed everyone, Sans?"

Sans jumped, memories of the previous timeline flooding back.

Dust everywhere. The lack of the lady on the other side of the big door. Papyrus' scarf lying in the snow. Dust. The large red slash that resulted when they finally managed to hit him. A flash of Griblly's before he faded away. Dust, dust, dust.

Sans growled, a Gaster Blaster appearing. "I don't know why you're here." The Blaster fired. "But don't come back."
