"Dad, dad, wake up. Dad." The large ginger groaned and turned over. His eyes popped open and he flailed his arms as he'd been startled awake.

"CRAIG DON'T DO IT!" He yelled. Ruby sighed annoyed. Not this again, she thought.

"Ruby, dad. It's Ruby. And Craig's gone. Remember moved out a year ago. Full ride scholarship for some crappy essay he paid some chick to write him. Remember?" She shook him again and the ginger man finally blinked off the last of his sleep and sat up.

"Right... Right, I'm proud. Proud of my son."

"Yeah, cuz South Park's gotten so progressive that if you don't you look like a dick. Now, if you don't mind can I get passed you to get my lunch." He looked around and realized, yes, he'd fallen asleep in front of the doorway to the kitchen.

"Sorry kiddo." He got up and strolled to his room.

"Good morning, to you too, sunshine." She rolled her eyes and walked into the kitchen grabbing some waffles. Normally, she hated frozen food but they were Karen's favorite so she thought she'd give them a second try. Then she started to make a sandwich. She'd woken up especially early today because she had a plan. A plan to finally catch Ike in the act. The gay act.

Against her norms, Ruby actually walked to school. Every step was screaming for her to stop. It was like going down a memory lane that was too gross to remember. South Park was gone, what was now South Park was a gross product of ads. She took a deep breath and kept walking. She had to keep walking.

"HEY!" Against her better judgement Ruby stopped to look back. She didn't really recognize the figure, but he was coming at a speed faster than light. In seconds he appeared.

"Fuck." She mumbled. The boy had spikey hair and a disgusting twisted smile on his face, a forced one at that.

"Hi, do I know you?" He didn't answer he grabbed her backpack and piled it onto his without even trying.

"You're Ike's friend right?" She shrugged. This guy was slowing her down. She needed to get to school before the bus. She planned on sneaking into the janitor's closet and hiding out to spy on Ike, but at this rate she'd arrive just as the bus would get there. The taller kid kept smiling at her. If she looked long enough the smile was genuine but then she reminded herself that it wasn't, it was just the trick of the light and tons of skill. She didn't know this kid, this kid probably just had a bone to pick with her best friend.

"I'm on his football team you know." He began. Ruby nodded. She wasn't in a mood to talk, her plan had been foiled and waking up early was now a waste. "He's pretty good I guess. Be a real shame if he didn't show up to practice today though..." There it was, he was trying to sabotage Ike. She looked up with a glare.

"I'm just giving you a friendly reminder..." He said with fake innocence then looked to the sky. "Besides it's a good excuse to carry a pretty girl's backpack." He did that lame clicking noise and sped off tossing her bag into her arms. Yup, he's a football player, she thought.

Ruby got to school what seemed like hours later. The bus had gotten here before her. She cursed that dumb jock and decided to get some breakfast. Maybe she could hang out with Karen.

Ruby didn't see Ike again till after school. He hadn't even bothered to stop by during lunch to say hi. Too busy with Firkle no doubt. She made note of that and then started planning out a way to get photographic proof of the two. She wouldn't let it go until Ike apologized for not telling her, her of all people.

Ike had his books in his hands and a giant smile. Ruby looked to Karen who was still ecstatic about Ruby's renewed love of waffles and the two approached him. Who they didn't see was the dark shadow hiding behind him. Karen's face lit up.
