Ike was carrying bags of clean clothes to the gym when he overheard a familiar voice.
"What the hell do you want?" Ike popped his head around the corner and turned red at the sight of Firkle but he wasn't alone. Leo was smiling at him like an idiot.
"Come on, one more kiss!" Ike's mind raced, one more? Did that mean they had kissed before?? Firkle's face turned red and his voice became softer.
"No, fuck off..." He was hardly fighting the curly haired goth.
"Come on, you know it was fun." Leo nudged him and Firkle cringed from being touched.
"Fuck off, Leo." Firkle squeaked again, still embarrassed remembering the kiss from the other day.
"Aw, but you're not fighting me so hard on this. Me thinks you want to do it again."
"Can you just leave me the fuck alone."
"Okay, fine. I'll leave you to the jock kid. He's probably gonna make out with a bunch of girls tonight actually with the game and everything..."
"Shut up."
"I'm just saying..." Leo's words really pissed Ike off. How could someone who barely knew him make such disgusting accusations. All the football captain wanted to do right now was march right up to him and knock the head off his shoulders. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, he had to look at this rationally. As much as Ike hated to say it, the goth did have some reasoning to back up the harsh judgment. Ike did kiss Flora and Karen. He had made some dumb mistakes in the past, it would be easy for anyone to assume Ike would do the same mistakes again, he was just human. He huffed out air from his mouth and looked at Firkle sadly, how could he disappoint him so badly. Why was he always messing up when it came to the person he was in love with?
The curly haired goth looked smug as he badmouthed Ike and Firkle looked beyond annoyed. Ike couldn't help but wonder how he would ultimately respond. Ike wasn't quick to jump to violence to sort out disputes but Firkle was. Would the goth punch Leo just to make him shut up? Would Ike have to get involved? Would Ike be so petty as to just walk away after Firkle threw the first punch? Maybe... Besides, he didn't like the idea of having to explain to Firkle why he was eavesdropping on the two. He stared at the two and Firkle had his arms gripping Leo's shoulders fiercely. The look in Firkle's eyes said he was mad but also that he was on the verge of tears.
"I'm just saying, Firkle... Remember what I said last time. You don't need to keep using a double-edged sword. Be with someone who makes you happy." Ike dropped the bag of clean football uniforms, and his body was telling him to run towards Firkle. Run to him and curse out the curly haired goth. But he couldn't do anything, he stood there the air shocked out of him. Did he really just watch Firkle kiss the goth???
Firkle wiped the spit from his mouth trying his best not to smear more of his lipstick and looked at Leo once more. He smirked with solemn bored eyes. "Shut up." Ike didn't know what to do. He couldn't confront the two, he didn't want to face an awkward and heartbreaking confrontation. There was nothing to really talk about anyway, it was obvious, wasn't it? Firkle was over Ike. Firkle had finally grown tired of all Ike's B.S. He closed his blue eyes and picked up the bag of clean clothes going back into the boy's locker room. He didn't want to cry but that's all his stupid brain would let him do.
Fillmore thought he had lost his jersey and had thrown a fit this morning to his mom. In the past, she had gotten it lost in her closet of clothes and even thrown it away so he figured she had done it again. His stepdad had even used it as a blanket for their cat. It took him till about lunchtime to realize that it was actually Ike's turn to clean all the uniforms. That calmed his nerves but now it was almost four o clock and Fillmore hadn't seen the annoying teen all day.
