I'm thinking of starting a new book for their sophomore year. What do you think? Or should I continue here? Let me know what you think, I was thinking of ending this book here and starting a new one or just continuing here. Thanks for reading, friends!

Karen was excited for music class. She had picked out a cute outfit, and she was especially excited about her shoes. Today, she was going to show off how mature she was by sporting her pink heels, a lime green summer dress, and some black leggings. She felt amazing, on the inside at least, outside she was freezing since the cold hit her full force. Students filled the classroom, and everyone rushed past her. She was still struggling to go into the classroom. She was anxious not only because of how Mr. Jacobs would react but also because she was afraid that she'd fall on her face. She didn't have a lot of practice walking in heels.

Ruby sat next to Frederick anxiously waiting for Karen, who refused their help when they offered to support her as she walked. So far, Karen had made it from the bus to the classroom with their help, but now she wanted to walk by herself into the classroom. Karen took a deep breath and began to walk. The bell rang, and Mr. Jacobs faced the classroom he smiled, and Ruby flipped him off, Frederick gave him a glare. Karen entered the classroom slowly, all eyes were on her, and Ruby leaned forward , ready to run and catch her if she fell. Walking was going well for Karen until the teacher began to speak. "Nice of you to join us , s. McCormick." She turned to face him embarrassed. She wanted to apologize , but when she turned her ankle twisted and before anyone else could move , he fell.

"OW!" Her scream filled the classroom, and students rushed to help her. Ruby reached her first.

"Shit, Karen , ou okay?" She grabbed her arm and sat her on the floor. The brunette looked at her twisted ankle and winced. The teacher approached her, and even though she didn't want to , uby backed away so he could look at her.

"That looks like a sprain. Does this hurt?" He touched her ankle , and Karen immediately winced. Ruby and Frederick grimaced as he touched her ankle. They were hellbent on getting this sicko arrested.

"It really hurts." Karen whined.

"You should go to the nurses office. Can I get a volunteer to-"

"I'll take her!" Ruby interjected. Mr. Jacobs nodded , and the two went off. Frederick hated that he got left behind , but Ruby and Karen were closer, and Karen still seemed angry with him.

Karen leaned into Ruby as they walked. Every step made Karen want to scream out. Ruby had never seen such restraint in her friend. When they reached the nurses office and the two were left alone, Ruby decided to bring up the elephant in the room. "Probably not the best time, but we really need to talk."

Karen shot Ruby a confused look. Ruby didn't really know any better time to bring it up. At least this way, Karen couldn't run away from her.

Karen took a deep breath and nodded, "Okay, what's going on? And honestly I can probably think of a million better times we could have this conversation, but whatever."

Ruby smiled at the spark of attitude Karen had given her. At the beginning of the year, there was no way Karen would even dream of sassing off to her. This was going to be awkward, so Ruby held onto the image of protecting her friend. "I know something's going on between you and our music teacher. Something beyond the kiss, Frederick told me."

In her shock, Karen pushed Ruby away and immediately fell onto the bed, unable to support any weight on her twisted ankle. "What are you talking about!" She grimaced as she rubbed her swollen ankle. Ruby sighed, heartbroken about the denial. She sat next to her and forced a smile.
