Nate's POV
That bitch, lying to avoid me. She just didn't get it. In order to get her attention, I had to go down this low. But she wouldn't even spare me a glance. What else should I do to make her look at me? And talk to me without being hostile? And smile at me genuinely?
I accidentally found her while driving home from the airport. Mom and Dad prolonged their vacation at Paris, saying that since they hadn't had one for years, they might as well enjoy it and send me back. I went home grudgingly. When was the last time we ever had a vacation together? And yet they wanted me back to school while they enjoy their frigging selves. Self-centered parents.
I stopped my car at a random street and leaned back tiredly. I wondered what the little bitch was doing now. I haven't seen her for a while and I missed bullying her. I missed the fiery look in her eyes and her cheeks turning pink when she's angry. She looked cute. I missed arguing with her just for the fun of it. Uh-oh. Whoa there, man. You sound like a total douche. But I wasn't. I just love annoying the hell out of her.
I looked at my right by chance and almost jumped out of my seat when I spotted someone who resembled Ellen. The girl was smiling at a little boy, must be her brother because I recognize the family resemblance, and she looked absolutely cheerful. Her long black hair hung loosely over her waist and she had color on her cheeks. I squinted my eyes to see her clearly and gaped in shock. It was Ellen! She wasn't wearing her glasses that's why it was so hard to believe that that good-looking chick was actually her. So she lived here? I chuckled sinisterly. Now I know where she lived.
She suddenly stiffened and looked around. She must have felt me stare at her. The windows of my car were dark-tinted so I could stare at her all I want. She looked at my car with awe once or twice. It was a brand-new BMW sports car, by the way. Seeing no one else around, she reluctantly continued teaching her little brother the guitar. I sighed. I wanted to make her smile at me, too. I wanted her to look at me with those expressive, beautiful aquamarine eyes without loathe. I wanted to be friends with her. Oh crap. I feel like a schmuck. I drove home quickly before I could get out the car and humiliate myself.
I gave instructions to my underlings to report where she was all the time. It was like hide-and-seek for me, only I was the IT all the time. Michael was apparently disgusted at this.
"What's so special about her, man? Why are you acting like a dog?"
I shrugged him off. I don't even fucking know myself. All I know was I can't get through the day without seeing her. Hell, I wasn't even skipping classes anymore like I used to. Michael was disgruntled about going to school every day. But he didn't complain anymore.
**********
I received a text from Matt saying that Ellen was in the library. I went there dragging with me a half-drunk, pissed-as-hell Michael. I sat behind her. She was studying Advanced Calculus when I leaned in to check what she was doing. I waited impatiently until she could feel my presence and when I couldn't take it anymore I kicked her chair.
She ignored it. And I got annoyed.
"Ugh, tell me why we're here again?" Michael rubbed his temples, trying to ease the hangover. I smirked at him. Why did he have to get drunk on a school night?
"We need to take some tests, you dope." Matt replied, pointing to a book on his lap. I kicked Ellen's chair again and I swear I heard her growl. "And I need to study."
"Good point. I can't understand why you're studying though. You're going to ace it anyway even without looking at any fucking book."
"Everyone else is doing it." Matt said. I looked over him and grinned. He wasn't studying. He was playing his Nintendo. Matt and his stupid video games craze.
