Blood Countess

Chapter 1

I arrived in Rome mid day. I was so excited to come here and finally I'm here. I've always dreamed about living here and now that might come true.

I was currently at the airport waiting for Damien, my brother and my bestfriend, he's picking me up and get me to my dorm.

"Kate!!! Kate!!!" I heard someone yell my name and I knew who's voice that came from.

"Damien! I missed you so much." He hugged me and I hugged him back.

"I miss you too munchkin. I'm so happy that you're finally here!" He was smiling so wide that he looked like Cheshire Cat.

"Yeah, me too. So, have you found 'The One'?"

"No, but hopefully soon. Now let's go so you can get settled in."

We went to his car and drove off. While in the car, I admired the beauty of Rome. There's so much history in it that makes me fascinated by it. The streets and buildings look unbelievably beautiful.

"So Kate got any girlfriend?"
I shook my head.

"Awww why not? Is my little sister lacking some charm?" He teased.

"Shut up! I'm just not interested."

"Oooooh! I'm sure you'll find somebody here."

"Yeah, I hope." I waved him off and we continued driving in silence.

A few minutes later we finally arrived. I unpacked my things and started arranging my dorm. I was alone for now since no one else has been assigned to be my roommate yet. Damien helps me get settled. After everything has been put to place it was already 7 in the evening and we decided to have dinner at some restaurant nearby.

After dinner, Damien dropped me off to my dorm. It's hard to think that I'm finally out of my mother's sight. Its like a breath of fresh air. That's a bit overdramatic but come on... My mom makes me feel like crap, all she does is always compare me to my sister like duh? I'm not her. We're completely different. No wonder why Damien wanted to get out of the house as soon as he turned 18.

I stopped thinking about my mother. It'll just make me feel depressed. So I just changed my clothes and decided to sleep. Its my first day tomorrow at a new university so I slept early so that I won't fall asleep in class and end up embarrassing myself.

I thought about all the things that may happen to me until I let sleep take over me.
