Everyday I grew more closer to Deyana but I still have the longing for Elizabeth. Deyana did everything to keep me happy and it worked. Everyday we would walk by the beach and just enjoy each other's company. She would bring me more books to read every week. In return, I would cook dinner for the both of us.
I still haven't heard any word concerning or from Elizabeth. She never wrote to me.
Every night I sleep thinking about her and why would she just leave like that. It's been 3 months and she still hasn't come back. Ever since I dreamt about that girl calling me Elizabeth's toy I can never sleep well since. Every night I would wake up covered in sweat and Deyana running towards my room and comfort me until I sleep.
I've been thinking about what I feel for Deyana lately. I think I'm falling for her. No that is not happening. I love Elizabeth and I know she'll come back for me. But that hope is slipping away little by little.
"What are you thinking in that pretty head of yours?" I sigh as I turned to the voice I already know very well.
"Just thinking about life." Which is partially true.
She hummed. "Why don't I take you to town so we can explore to help you get out of this house and enjoy for a while?" I smiled at the thought.
"Won't Elizabeth get mad?"
"She won't. I'm with you. I'll keep you safe. I promise." My smile grew wider as I nodded. She giggled. "Go get ready. It'll be a long day ahead of us."
And I did.
After I was done getting ready I met up with her by the living room. She was reading the newspaper intently and her eyebrows were furrowed. She was so cute when she's focused on something. I cleared my throat.
"There you are. Everything ready?" I nodded at her and ushered me to follow her. A range rover was parked outside the beach house and I guess this was our ride. When we settled in she started the car and off we go. "Do you wanna turn on the radio or something?" She looked unsure and I can't help but laugh at her. She looks confused.
"Can I borrow your phone please?" She just nodded and told me it was in her bag. I found it and connected it to the speaker of the car. She actually has great music taste.
I played If I could change your mind by HAIM. Deyana looked at me and smirked.
"I love that song."
She started singing along to the song while her eyes were focused on the road.
If I could change your mind
I would hit the ground running
It took time to realize
And I never saw it coming
Forgive my lying eyes
She glanced at me while she sang along.
Gonna give you all or nothing
If I could change your mind
I could make you mine, make you mine
She sighed as she continued to drive. Her voice was angelic. I just wanted to hear her sing.
After about 20 minutes later we arrived. If I didn't have any fascination with vintage things my jaw wouldn't be hanging down but stepping out of the car and looking around feels like stepping back into the 1800's. Deyana nudged me.
"You like?" She asked as she smiled at me.
"No." She frowned. "I love." I exclaimed. She smiled again at this and she took my hand and intertwined it with hers.
