Kate's POV

It has almost been a month since I last saw Elizabeth. Deyana just told me that we needed to stay here for my safety although I really don't know what she means by it.

I was in my room looking over the beach. I felt Deyana sit beside me.

"Let's do something today, Kate. You've been moping around since Elizabeth left."

I looked at her and I guess she was right. I need to stop overthinking and take my mind off of Elizabeth for now. I just nodded.

"Walk with me by the beach?"

She giggled and it was adorable. I never heard her giggle before. I didn't realize it made me smile.

"Smile more often, little kitten. It suits you." I can't help but blush at her comment. I stood up and took my flip-flops with me.

"Come on, Dey. I wanna see the sunset." She just smiled at me and caught up with me.

I admired the scenery and the smell of the sea. I need to clear my mind even just for a moment.

Deyana and I sat in the sand and we were both quiet for a while until she spoke.

"Elizabeth is lucky to have you." She was looking at me like I was the most precious thing in the world. I looked down but I could still feel her gaze.

Deyana never left me for a second. She's always by my side since Elizabeth left. I have been feeling down since then but she would always try to cheer me up.

Time passed and the sun was down. We got back to the beach house and I told her I wanted to prepare dinner for us. She looked a bit taken aback by it but just smiled. Her smile makes me feel different things. Nice things that confuse me.

Dinner was soon over and I decided to head back to my room. I stripped off my clothes since sleeping naked makes me feel comfortable. Sleep soon took over me.

"You pathetic whore! I always knew you were a whore. Slutting around just like your mother. You really are an abomination to any kind that ever exists." She laughed menacingly and I could just feel her power radiating. She was beautiful but that beauty just screams evil. "You think that Elizabeth has fallen for you but no, she will never fall for someone like you. You're merely a play toy to her." She laughed and laughed. I couldn't take it anymore. I was covering my ears but I could still hear her. I was crying. I tried to scream at her to stop but nothing comes out of my mouth. I began to panic.

I could hear someone calling my name. It sounded so far but felt so near. I need to get out of here.

"Kate. Kate open your eyes. Please" I tried but I still can't. "Kate, my little kitten. Open your eyes. Wake up."

I finally opened my eyes and saw Deyana in front of me. Her hands were on both sides of my face trying to calm me.

"Shhhh it's okay. You're alright." She embraced me and tried to calm me.

"Don't leave. Please" I cried more and she didn't care if I soaked her shirt.

"I'll never leave you, little kitten. I''ll always be here for you even if it hurts me." She made me look into her eyes. "I promise you that." She then kissed my forehead and rocked us back and forth in a calming way.

My eyes felt heavy and I drifted off to sleep clinging on to Deyana.

I woke up and Deyana was still embracing me. It felt too good to be true. Why can't she be Elizabeth? 'Stop thinking about her for a second, Kate.' That voice in my head said.

Deyana looks so peaceful in her sleep. She looks so beautiful like an angel. I forgot that I was naked under these sheets. Oh my lord. I got up carefully not to wake her. I put on my underwear and put on a big shirt.

I went to the kitchen and prepared breakfast. I finished preparing breakfast and drank my coffee. All I could think about was the nightmare I had. Who was that girl? How did she know about me and Elizabeth?

"You're overthinking again, Kate." I snapped out of my thoughts. I just shrugged. "Morning little kitten." She went to the fridge and took out a bag of blood. It's pretty much the norm now.

"Thanks for being here for me, Dey." I gave her a smile and she smiled back.

"I'll do anything for you, Kate." I felt my breath hitch not knowing what she really meant.

We ate breakfast talking about our favorite books. In this dark world, she provided me light.

I can't feel this way towards Deyana. I already love Elizabeth. 'Pft! But where is she, Kate? Where is she when you need her the most?' The voice in my head said again. And now I sit here trying to be calm but deep inside my feelings for Deyana makes me so confuse.

"Are you okay?" Worry was evident on her face. I just nodded.

The day went by and Deyana told me stay in my room telling me she has a surprise for me.

"I don't like surprises, Deyana." I told her but she just laughed.

"You'll like this one. Believe me, bella." She smiled and I think I just melted not only with that smile but with her italian accent as well. I mumbled an hmmm at her and she went on her way with whatever surprise she has.

A few minutes later I heard her shout from outside of my room.

"Close your eyes, little kitten."

"Why do I have to?" I growled. I fucking hate surprises.

"Just do it."

"Fine" I closed my eyes and felt her presence enter the room. I heard shuffling in the background.

"Okay. Open your beautiful eyes, little kitten."

As I opened my eyes, it landed on the books that she was carrying. She had a box behind her.

"Surprise!" She was smiling and I grinned at her. "It's not much but I hope it can cheer you up. I know I bore you-" she didn't get her to finish her sentence as I threw myself at her and hugged her.

"This is perfect, Dey. And nope, you do not bore me." I pulled back and she was smiling as if it's the happiest day for her. "Thank you. You really know how to cheer me up." I smiled at her and I think I just saw her blush. Oh she's so cute. What would I do without you Deyana?
