I woke up this morning and I was all alone in my room. Zach had stayed over last night and I guess he left to go home for Christmas this morning. I climbed out of bed and walked over to my bathroom with my phone in hand. I plugged it into the dock and pressed shuffled then stripped out of my clothes.
After I was down showering I got dressed in my room and walked downstairs. My mom was in the kitchen making food and my sister was sitting in the living room on her phone.
"Good morning you guys." I greeted walking down the stairs.
"Good morning sweetheart. Merry Christmas." My mom said as I walked into the kitchen. When I walked up to her we hugged and I told her Merry Christmas back. I walked into the living room where my sister was and Shawn walked through the front door.
"I hope I'm not late to open presents." He said as he closed the door behind him.
"No we haven't even started." I replied sitting on the couch.
"Phew okay. I brought you guys' presents. I'll just put them under the tree for now." I nodded and pulled out my phone. I received a text from Zach so I opened it and a smile creeped onto my face.

I smiled and shook my head as my mom walked into the living room with some Christmas cookies in a Santa Clause tray.
"Present time! Put phones away and let's get to opening." She said putting down the tray and sitting on the couch. I got up and walked over to the tree to help sort out the gifts.
"This one is for Gracie." Shawn said placing it in Gracie's stack of presents.
"This one is for you Shawn." I said handing it to him. He placed it in his pile and handed me the last gift.
"This one is for you." He said as he handed it to me. I thanked him and put it in my pile.
"Okay on the count of three we all open our gifts from the same person. Okay?" My mom said looking at all of us. We nodded and she picked up one gift. "Alright so this one is from Shawn. Everyone pick up their gift from Shawn." We did as we were told and waited for her to count down. Shawn's gift to me wasn't that big but it was a little heavy. I shook it a bit to see what it sounded like but Shawn made me stop.
"Lashea I wouldn't shake that if I were you." I nodded and put it back in my lap.
"Okay ready?" My mom asked my sister and I. We nodded and she started counting down. "3... 2... 1.. Open!" She screamed and I gently tore the wrapping off and when I saw what it was my hand fly over my mouth. It was a new Canon camera. The canon T-60. I attacked him with a big hug and repeatedly thanked him.
"No problem. I know how much you want to be a photographer so I though I'd get you a really good camera that professional photographers use to take some pictures. You should really think about starting now so you can only get better as you get to college and become the best of the entire world." He said exaggerating a little bit. I chuckled and hugged him again.
