Russia Headcanons 1 - 50

1.) Laika was Russia's dog. He was distraught when she didn't come home.

2.) When Russia asks people to become one with him, he really wants them to meditate together. Russia believes meditation is a good way for someone to become one with his or her body, mind and spirit.

3.) Ivan hates the movie 'Anastasia.' Yes, he loved the princess and still misses her. But the movie makes the Tsarist Russia look like a beautiful thing. The reality is... It wasn't.

4.) Russia is probably the character that could out dance all the others on a whim.

5.) He loves French culture.

6.) Russia's heart sometimes falls out, and when it does he momentarily goes insane. That's why the other nations try to remain calm when it happens, since they don't want to push him too far.

7.) Russia's scarf was originally white. Through the years, it's gotten stained with so much blood that it will never wash out completely.

8.) He can't have pets. Especially dogs.

9.) Belarus got her trademark hair bow from Russia as a Christmas gift when they were children. Russia has given her a new bow on every Christmas since.

10.) Russia has the best 'puppy-dog eyes.' Making it hard for some countries to stay mad at him.

11.) Russia never takes off his scarf, because he has a very tender neck, just like Italy's curl.

12.) Russia enjoys watching The Twilight Zone. Originally, he liked it because it was creepy and weird. Now that he knows it was propaganda against him, he likes to watch it to spite America.

13.) He has always been fascinated with the stars in the sky. He's often gone outside and laid down in the snow, just staring up at the heavens and the blinking starlights. His fascination with space led him to help as much as he could with the Russian space program. He's pretty savvy in the ways of aeronautics and rocketry.

14.) When he's around the other Eastern European countries, he shows his childish side more.

15.) Belarus was really the one to make Russia his scarf. She was just too afraid that he would reject it if it came from her so she asked Ukraine to give it to him instead

16.) Russia sleeps with a ton of pillows.

17.) Russia does not know how to ride a bike.

18.) Whenever the Baltic's are angry they make a mess and blame it on the cat. Russia will scold 'little Ivan,' by cuddling him uncontrollably.

19.) Russia sometimes wets the bed when he falls asleep after getting really drunk. It doesn't have that often but he's horribly embarrassed when it does.

20.) His ringtone is the Tetris theme.

21.) When everyone left Ivan during the Soviet Union, Belarus was the last one who left him, and was the first person to come back and stay with him. Ivan is really very grateful to his sister for that.

22.) His favorite composer is Dmitri Shostakovich. Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich was a Soviet Russian composer and one of the most celebrated composers of the 20th century. [...] His symphonic work is typically complex and requires large scale orchestras (Wikipedia).

23.) Russia's constant smile is usually faked. He smiles to hide what he is really feeling, how he is constantly fighting off visions of the past. Only Lithuania and Ukraine can tell when he is fake smiling or not.

24.) Every night, Russia has nightmares. About the Romanovs, the Revolution, everything. It usually ends with him crying his eyes out, then not sleeping for a while.

25.) He is lonely, but pretends he doesn't know it. When the Soviet Union dissolved, it was the first time he admitted to himself that he was alone.
The sunflowers he loved so much were a symbol of what he couldn't have as a nation: happiness. He wishes that one day someone will come along and show him what it means to be a friend. And what true happiness is.

26.) Only a few people have seen him cry.

27.) Russia is amazing at Tetris.

28.) Ivan always wears gloves because blood on his hands triggers him.

29.) Russia hides many things inside his coat.

30.) Russia isn't hiding a six-pack. Those aren't rock hard abs underneath his coat. He's not secretly skinny, either. He's just your average husky guy.

31.) Russiacat's weight is a sign of Russia's prosperity.

32.) He wants to be loved more than anything else. Never will he know how much he already is.

33.) If you call him cute.. He will always deny it.

35.) Russia saw Stalin as a father figure and Stalin knew he could do anything to him because of it. Now Russia has a difficulty with trust.

37.) The Baltic's are all rather fond of Russia. At the same time they are scared to death by him.

38.) Russia is a fantastic ballet dancer.

39.) Russia sometimes breaks down crying in front of his sisters, for one of his worst fears is them leaving him as well because he actually has a heart and cares about his sisters - a lot more than some may think.

40.) Russia likes to cook. He is good at it, too. He also likes to cook his own country's unique food for others to share his culture.

41.) Whenever Russia hurt Lithuania, he felt very guilty about it later. Because of this, he got the best Russian doctors to look after him. Lithuania still doesn't know.

42.) The high, cute-sounding voice isn't Russia's normal voice, but one he uses around others to try to seem less threatening.

43.) He will never admit it, especially to America, but his favourite movie is The Wizard of Oz. He had every line and song memorised in his head, and likes to watch it whenever he's going through a hard time. It gives him hope for the future and even though he knows the real message of the movie, it feeds his delusions that one day he might find, 'a place behind the sun, just a step beyond the rain.'

44.) Ivan is a secret Twenty One Pilots fan. His favourite song is Hometown.

45.) He has an amazing singing voice. Not that anyone gets to hear it.

46.) Modern - say Russia, though like any other country is still plagued by memories of his past, is not all that crazy. In fact, nowadays he's barely so. However, due to his poor reputation, he is still considered not to be trusted among other countries.

47.) Canada and Russia are best buds. They both needed someone who could understand each other.

48.) Russia's favourite colour is pink. It's mostly because it's Ukraine's favourite colour.

49.) Russia has respected the Baltic's personal space. He just doesn't want them to leave.

50.) Russia doesn't regret his revolution. He isn't sorry that the Romanov dynasty was overthrown, or that Nicolas II was killed. But he wishes the tsar's children could have been spared. They treated him like a member of their family, and were always trying to get him to play with them and tell them stories. They loved him, and he couldn't help but love them back. And while he tried to not play favorites, he was especially fond of Anastasia. He always spends the anniversary of their death alone, mostly because he doesn't want anyone to know how sad he gets on that day.
