Dantopaz: Why did you join wattpad?
Kalina242: I first heard about Wattpad through Quizilla. Quizilla has many glitches and often messed up my work. I was really tired of it, and began to hear about Mibba and Fanfiction, but neither appealed to me. Finally, I stumbled upon a girl talking about it, and I checked it out. I was really impressed, so here we are, I suppose.
Dantopaz: What story are you most proud of?
Kalina242: Hmm, that’s a real toughie. There are a lot of things I like about all my stories. Who Says Love Comes First has had the most views, and the best plot, probably, but it’s far from the best. You Know, There’s No Need To Be Obsessed has a great structure, and a fabulous ending, and Six Things About Everything is probably the most fun, and detailed, but I’m probably most proud of Who Says Love Comes First.
Dantopaz: If you had to choose your favourite story on wattpad, what would it be?
Kalina242: Another hard question! Probably Dumped, by xXSassyCynicxX, Hey Mr. Kidnapper, Can You Give Me a Ride Home by racingheart, and Growing by ImRANDOMx. They’re all beautifully written and very captivating.
Dantopaz: Cool! What would you rate wattpad out of 100?
Kalina242: This is gonna sound seriously cheesy, but I’d probably give it a 100. I know that it promotes the top rated stories too much, however, that’s the way all things are. They want the most popular to be on display, and the undiscovered to be discovered.
Dantopaz: What’s your favourite story off wattpad?
Kalina242: Dumped by xXSassyCynicxX, Hey Mr. Kidnapper, Can You Give Me a Ride Home by racingheart, and Growing by ImRANDOMx. Dantopaz: Who is your favourite author on all of wattpad?
Kalina242: racingheart. She hasn’t uploaded in a long time, but I seriously love her work. She has great variety, and a keen eye for detail. And, good lord is that girl hilarious!
Dantopaz: Out of your book/books, who is your favourite character?
Kalina242: I love all my characters! Besides the evil ones of course. I think all four of my main girls have been a counterpart of myself. Torrie (Who Says Love Comes First) is my more innocent part, Robbi (You Know, There’s No Need To Be Obsessed) is my more rebellious part, Samantha (Six Things About Everything) is my more carefree and detective-like part, and Carmen (A Little More Than Convenient) is my more scatterbrained and sweet part. All the guys are (I’ll admit) are some of my dream guys. Blake (Who Says Love Comes First) is the player turned softie, Ryan (You Know, There’s No Need To Be Obsessed) is the pop star with a heart of gold, Asher, God, I love Asher (Six Things About Everything), is the sweet, sexy quarterback, and Trent (A Little More Than Convenient) is the nice, but dumb businessman. All stories feature siblings. Devyn, AJ, and Carly (You Know, There’s No Need To Be Obsessed), are all huge parts of the story. And even in all of my other stories, their family plays a key role. My all time favorite character has got to be Asher, though. He was so fun to write about. My favorite girl was probably Robbi. Even though Samantha is the most like me, Robbi was proof that love could save a person. Also, she was great fun to create.
Dantopaz: What is your most embarrassing moment, that you’re willing to share?
Kalina242: I won’t name names, but a girl shoved a guy and he fell into me, and I slammed against the wall in the hallway at school. Jeez, I was so embarrassed. It was in front of almost all the school, and all my best friend, Lori did was laugh. I’m still (kind of) pissed at her for that.
Dantopaz: What’s your best way to get rid of writers block?
Kalina242: It’s weird. I get ALL my ideas from either school or taking a bath or shower. I always get my best ideas when I’m getting clean. And also music helps, especially breakup songs, such as That Should Be Me by Justin Bieber. I’m not proud of that.
Dantopaz: Are you a reader or a writer?
Kalina242: Um...Oh gosh, I don’t know. I guess it’s fairly fifty/fifty. I couldn’t read if I didn’t write, and I couldn’t write if I didn’t read. I read my first book when I was three, and immediately wanted to make stories of my own. I wrote my first story when I was in third grade. Oh, it was horrid. I think it was, like, three hundred or less words. But, that’s what got me started.
Dantopaz: Where do you find your ideas?
Kalina242: To be honest, most of them basically just pop into my head. Oh, besides that, they come to me in dreams. I thought of the plot of You Know, There’s No Need To Be Obsessed through the Disney movie Starstuck, and Sonny With a Chance.
Dantopaz: How often do you upload your stories?
Kalina242: I don’t upload on weekends, because I don’t have internet at home, but I try to upload every other weekday, if not every weekday.
Dantopaz: Are there any stories you are working on at the moment, that are not published? If so, would you mind telling us something about them/it?
Kalina242: Well, I’m still in the process of two deleted stories: The Witness Protection Program, and Operation: Pom Pom. Also, I have an idea for a story about a girl adopting her deceased best friend’s daughter and then raising her with the dad. It may or not be started. That’s basically all that’s in the works. And of course, I’m currently writing A Little More Than Convenient.
Dantopaz: Is there anything you would like to say in addition?
Kalina242: Hmm, just that if you want to be a writer, keep at it. Ignore haters, because there will people like that ALWAYS. Also, I’d be nowhere without my F’s (fans, friends, and family), especially my friend, Christy who urged me to continue writing one of my own stupid stories. It was also awful, but she got me to post it, which gave me a lot of confidence. And thanks to you, Daniela, for doing this interview. It means a lot more than words can say. Also, (I promise this is the last one) thanks to Wattpad. Without you, I’d be unspeakably depressed. One thing I want everyone to know: The sound of E.T. walking was made by someone squishing her hands in jelly. Yeah. ♥
