*Danielle's POV*
I begrudgingly left the shitty cabin and headed back out into the woods, at least I had a good night's sleep before we headed back out.
We walked through the woods while Daryl taught Beth how to track. We came across a walker and I wasn't paying attention to where I put my feet so I managed to get my boot heel caught it a trap hurting my ankle in the process. I let out a shriek drawing the walkers attention to us. Jonny pulled Beth behind him while Daryl got the walker took down before coming over to me.
He got the trap off my boot and asked, "Can ya move it?"
"Yeah, so it's not broken so it maybe sprained." I told him.
"Okay, let's find some place to get that taken care of." Daryl replied before helping me to my feet.
I draped an arm over his shoulders and he wrapped an arm securely around my waist before we set off again. After we walked a while we came across a cemetery and a funeral home but the walk to the house seemed so far to walk without a break.
"Can we stop a second?" I asked.
"Ya alright babygirl?" Daryl replied.
"Yeah, I just need to sit down a second." I told him.
He handed his crossbow over to Jonny and said, "Hop on."
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yeah. This is a very serious piggyback babygirl. Jump up." He told me.
I placed my hands on his shoulders to brace myself before I jumped up and he caught me by the backs of my thighs. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he got me better situated giving my thighs a tight squeeze as he did so. I put my hand on his cheek and turned his head giving him a small kiss before we walked on.
"Maybe there are people in there." I said as we walked among the graves.
"Yeah, if there are, I'll handle them." Daryl replied.
"There's still good people out there, Daryl." I told him.
"I don't think the one good ones survive." He said.
We finally walked onto the home's front porch and Daryl opened the door. He and Jonny banged on the door facing and whistled to draw any walkers out.
"Give it a minute." Daryl told us.
After he determined it was safe we walked inside, the men still in front of Beth and I. I was struck by how clean and well kept it looked and I wasn't the only one.
"It's so clean." Beth remarked out loud.
"Yeah, somebody's been tending to it. May still be around." Daryl replied.
"We'll be careful." Jonny said.
"Jon, you and Beth stay up here. Me and Danielle will go look for something to bind her ankle." Daryl replied.
Jonny nodded and handed Daryl's crossbow back to him before we walked through the house, down some stairs and into what looked like the embalming room. I saw two dead walkers on tables and tried to not get sick at the sight. Daryl looked through cabinets before he found what he was looking for.
"Let's get the ankle wrapped babygirl." He said me before tearing the bandage packaging open with his teeth.
As he got the bandage out he noticed me looking at the bodies.
"Looks like somebody ran out of dolls to dress up." He remarked.
"Yeah, it's a tad creepy." I replied.
