When I had finally calmed down a bit Ethan carefully wiped the last traces of tears from my cheeks and then he gently raised my head until I was gazing up into his beautiful eyes. He looked at me for a second but then he sighed and hardened his expression before he said:

"I know you feel bad about your friend Matt but I'm telling you that there is nothing in this world that's more important than your safety. I won't let you run around in the woods when there are rogues sneaking about and especially not when you're still unclaimed. I know you don't like it but I'm driving us home to my place. When they find Ash I'll make sure you'll be the first to hear about it but you won't do anything to place yourself in danger until then. Is that understood?"

Ethan's voice was firm as he held my gaze captive and I could feel my eyes tear up a bit.

"I can't promise that..." I whispered and I could feel his arms tighten around my waist.

"Then I can't promise I'll let you out of my sight. I'll tie you up if I have to. Anything to keep you out of harms way." Ethan answered and there was nothing more to say. He wouldn't budge on this and I could feel myself loosing this battle even before it had properly started. Therefore I simply shut my mouth and proceeded to give him the silent treatment.

I could feel Ethan sigh against me as he took in my sulking form but then he carefully slipped me over to the passenger seat and ruffled my hair a bit. He locked the doors of the car and put it in reverse. I looked out the side-window as he began driving back towards the mansion and I gave the beach one last look before it slowly disappeared behind us. I sent a small prayer that Ash would be okay and then I slowly fell into an exhausted sleep.

[A few hours later]

When I slowly blinked my eyes open and realized that I was lying in a soft big bed under comfy covers, tucked in securely I knew I had been asleep for at least a few hours. When my memories of the trip to the beach came rushing back I rolled to the side of the bed and carefully threw my legs over the edge. I waited for a few seconds and then I stood up, looking around me as I took in the huge room I was in. The grey walls together with the dark wooden floor were soothing in a strange way and I got a safe feeling inside my chest as I let my eyes roam around the place.

I looked down at myself as a small shiver took a hold of my body and I blushed as I realized that I was only in my boxers. Ethan had probably changed my swimming trunks to these boxers while I was sleeping and the fact of it was making me embarrassed for some reason. I bet he enjoyed it too that pervy wolf man...

I almost laughed at my own thoughts but then I slowly made my way over to what I would guess to be the closet and when I glanced inside I realized that I was perfectly right. I grabbed the closest shirt and pulled it over my head in an attempt to feel less exposed but when I went to grab some pants I saw hanging inside the closet I realized that they would never fit my slim body. I sighed but then I let them be and turned to walk towards the nearest door hoping it was the way out. I needed to find my own clothes so I could get out of this house and search for Ash.

When I opened the door and stepped out into a long corridor I could feel my jaw drop by the sight of the amount of art pieces hanging over the walls of the corridor. I stepped out and closed the door to the bedroom behind me before I walked up to the first painting and stared at it. It was simply amazing.

The beautiful wolf captured in the drawing was so vivid I had to reach out and touch my fingertips against it to make sure it wasn't actually alive. I traced the edges of the creatures body while staring at the mix of color in its fur. The animal seemed to glow a beautiful red and I admired the warmth its eyes expressed. It seemed so calming looking into the brown eyes of the wolf.
