I wouldn't mind bringing Ryan Taylor home to meet my family that's for sure...

I could see the sudden joy shining in his eyes before he toned it down and smiled down at me. He turned me so I was sitting with my back against his chest and then he wrapped his arms securely around me as I let my head fall back to rest against his shoulder.
"I would like that, yes, but if you don't feel comfortable doing that yet I understand. I won't pressure you." He answered and for some reason I had already known that would be his answer. I mean he could be quite forward but he would still listen to my wishes, that much I knew.
"I... I don't really mind..." I whispered shyly, for some reason feeling embarrassed by the whole conversation. Who even asked about these things nowadays? Didn't a relationship just bloom by itself? Or did it? Agh... I was too inexperienced with these things to actually know the answer...
We spent the next hour watching some TV and when the sound of the front door opening cut through the air I almost dropped out of the armchair in surprise.
Wait! I wasn't ready for this yet!
"Matthew?" My mother's inquiring voice drifted through the house and I cursed silently before I stood up and slowly made my way over to the opening. I peered out from the living room and the first thing I noticed was my older brother standing over by the door smirking at me.
Yeah... great.
I turned my eyes on the woman beside him and I could feel her gaze bore into me as I stepped out into the corridor. Instant death, that's what awaited me...
"Yeah?" I breathed in answer and I dreaded the explosion I thought would come.
It was just that... it didn't.
"How many times do I have to tell you to put your shoes on the side of the door? I don't want to trip over them every time I get home!" My mother chided, her voice quite normal even thought she was frowning down at my shoes lying at her feet in the middle of the hallway.
Eh... wait... rewind... she wasn't... angry?
"Eh... right... I'm sorry?" I said dumbfounded and I could see my older brother send me an amused look. That same amused look disappeared a second later when Ethan stepped out in the corridor behind me.
My mother's eyes widened a bit and my brother got a slight suspicious look in his eyes that I couldn't quite place.
"Right... eh mum this is Ethan... and he... and he... andheismyboyfriend." I said, hurrying the last part so much that I didn't even know if they even understood what I said.
My mother stared at Ethan for another second or so but then her eyes got a bit lighter and she sent him a small smile.
"Oh... hello Ethan. I'm Helena, it's nice to meet you!" My mother said, walking towards us and taking Ethan's hand in hers. I held my breath as Ethan returned her smile and gently shook her hand. I guess that went a lot better than I had expected.
I shouldn't have said that though because the next thing I knew Lionel was standing before me and I turned my eyes to look up into his.
"So you're gay?" He suddenly said and just by those few words I could feel a slight nervousness settle inside me. I had never even considered the fact that people may not like it when they heard about my relationship with Ethan.
Before I had time to answer Ethan was standing behind me and I could feel his arms go around me before his voice filled the air around us.
"Is there a need to label it? We like each other and we're dating, isn't that enough?" He said and I could by now hear my own heart thump inside my chest like some wind up-toy. Gosh this was nerve-racking! What if my own brother would come to hate me? Shit I definitely hadn't thought this through!
