Chapter 2 ~ First impressions

"Oh my God why can't I ever have something even close to luck?" Ash groaned as he stared at the new guy, him in turn looking confused as he stared back. Did they know each other? Who the hell was this guy and why was he so ridiculously... hot...?

Wait what?

I shook my head as I stared at his handsome face and the way his dark brown hair lay across his head in a sexy kind of way. It was ridiculous really...

I had time to stare at him because it seemed like he hadn't seen me yet. Not that I wanted to stare at him or anything. It was just difficult to look away.

Suddenly Ash threw his hands in the air and groaned loudly. The new guy chuckled slightly and said with an amused voice:

"Jeez no need to sound so happy to see me Ash..."

Ash gave him a small glare and I got tired of just standing there so I interrupted his glaring by saying:

"Hey Ash, what the hell are you doing? I thought we were supposed to buy something to eat and then leave?"

While I spoke the new guy shifted his steel gray eyes on me and suddenly he took a sharp intake of a breath. Ash frowned and I actually felt like the tension in the air thickened as he moved his gaze between the new guy and me.

"Mine..." The new guy suddenly said, his voice dark as he stared at me. Now it was my turn to frown but before I could ask what the hell was going on Ash jumped in front of me, efficiently shielding me from being able to see the new guy.

"NO!! Hell no! Forget it! You hear me Ethan? Forget it!" He yelled but at the same time he managed to accidentally step on my foot in his hurry to shield me. I hissed in pain and the new guy, Ethan, immediately let out something sounding disturbingly close to a growl.

What the hell was happening?

Suddenly Ash grew stiff in front of me and when I managed to peak around him I could see why. Ethan was glaring a hole right through him and his gray eyes were almost glowing silver. Holy cow... it must be the light in here or something...

"Move." Ethan growled at Ash and he flinched before he seemed to remember that I was still standing behind him.

"God, you've made a mistake! I promise you this guy is not what you think he is! Ethan don't...!" He didn't get to finish what he was going to say because Ethan suddenly jerked him to the side and stepped up to me. Before I could react he wrapped his arms around me proceeding to literally hug the life out of me.

My jaw had dropped from the shock of being embraced but when Ethan nuzzled his face against the side of my neck, taking a deep breath, and humming slightly in approval I could feel my eyes widen even more.

What. The. Hell. Did. He. Think. He. Was. Doing.

I barely registered Ash's pale face as I took a deep breath and started screaming at both him and Ethan:

"What the hell are you doing?! Get the fuck off me! Ash! Get your stupid friend off me now or I swear to God I'll kick his sorry ass! Do you hear me? Ash! Are you even listening? Do something!"

I glared daggers at Ash as I tried to squirm out of Ethan's embrace. It was as if he didn't even feel me struggle and I couldn't even move an inch. How strong was this guy? I mean come on!

"Ah sorry Matt, there's nothing I can do... I guess you just have to wait until his done..." Ash suddenly said in a sheepish voice and I watched as he held his hands up soothingly and started to slowly back away from us. Why was he looking like he was retreating?
