You belong with me

Chapter 24

"Carrots?!" Nick called. "Carrots?!" he was practically shouting.

"Shut up!" Finnick woke up.

"Judy's gone!" Nick was panicking.

"This bunny I'm telling you..." Finnick sat up. Nick called her name again. Nothing.

Meanwhile, Judy was underwater, trapped in a giant bubble. She heard Nick calling her name from the beginning, but no matter how loudly she screamed, they couldn't hear her.

"Maybe she drowned." Finnick said, as he examined the water. Nick gasped, and threw a punch at his shoulder, glaring at him.

"What? Don't tell me that she couldn't!" he pointed at the water. Nick was about to reply, when suddenly he heard something. A voice maybe. That was far, far away.

"I can hear something..." Nick said and frowned, trying to listen carefully.

"Carrots!" he called again.

"Oh great. We did not only lose Judy, we also lost your brain." Finnick said sarcastically.

"Judy!" Nick shouted again, and his ears twitched, when he heard the voice again.

"She's in the water!" Nick said, and dived in, in seconds. Finnick face-palmed. "Love is nuts..." he said to himself. "Remind me not to fall in love..." he talked to no one.

Nick swam down, and immediately spotted Judy shouting his name.

"Nick!" Judy tried to get out of the bubble. Nick was in front of her, and as soon as she saw him, she started hitting herself against the bubble. He examined it, and tried to think of a way to get her out.

Unexpectedly, two blue fish appeared, and swam quickly next to Nick, creating a bubble, as big as the one Judy was in. They pushed Nick into it, before he could react. Inside the bubble, he could breath. The two fish pushed the bubble, and it became one with Judy's.

"Carrots, what happened?" Nick asked, still trying to catch a breath.

"I wanted to s-swim, and I-I"

"Judy!" he rarely called her name. "The truth!" he was frowning.

"I... it's my fault. I just wanted to... I wanted to help!"

"Well, you definitely did not help now!" he shook his paws, upset. She lowered her head, ashamed.

"I've been worried sick!" he crossed his arms, and looked away. "If you want to help, just keep yourself safe." he calmed down.

"But that is not helpful, Nick!" she exclaimed.

"Carrots... if you haven't realized already, you always get in trouble. I never said you want to, but your attempt to help us causes even more danger." he placed his paw on her shoulder. Judy sighed, and nodded in response. Nick smiled sweetly, and pulled her for a short hug. 

"We have to find a way out..."
