La Push (Chapter 1)

My POV

"So that's what you're doing?? Shipping me back to the reservation!" I screamed at my brother. My parents just recently died and now I have to go back to my hometown La Push, Washington.

"It's what mom and dad want!" My brother, Travis yells back

"Yeah right you just want to get rid of me!" I yell back

"Yeah well maybe it's a good thing you have been out of control with your behavior Lyss!"

I huffed "Well what do you expect from a teenage popstar who just lost her parents and sister." I said with a smirk.

"I lost them too ya know. This is for your own good now go pack" My brother tells me while running his fingers through his hair. I roll my eyes, turn around and stomp upstairs to my room. Once my parents died, Travis became my legal guardian. My sister Samantha would've if she was here, but Travis was put second just in case anything ever happened to Sami; which something did happen. I remember that day clearly. We were in a meadow the one where we usually bonded at.

"So Lyss, how are you and Jesse?" Sami asked.

"Just perfect. He is such great guy" I lied right through my teeth. We were lying on our backs looking at the sky it was sunset so the sky looked nice. Sami turned to me

"Seriously, how is it?" She asked again

I sighed "It's good, it's just sometimes his jealousy gets out of hand and the distance sorta sucks too" I admitted.

Sami opened her mouth to say something, but closed it once she saw him he was one of her minions. I looked at him and he had an evil smirk on his face

"Alyssa run now!" Sami said as she ran towards the man and shape shifted into a wolf. I already knew about the wolves because Travis was the first to shape shift. We were arguing and he got so angry he shape-shifted right then and there. I was standing too close and got scratched. I got scratched on the forehead a bit and down my right arm the scratch is about 5 inches. Travis feels bad about it, but I don't blame him neither of us knew that would happen. Anyways, back to the Sami sitch

She got to the man and he shot her right in the heart, she died almost instantly but right before she did she ripped his head off. I ran to Sami, but there was nothing I could do because by the time I got there she had shifted back into her human form and was dead. I cried and cried for weeks. My parents then sat me down and explained everything to me. How I have these powers that a woman named Veronika wants to rule the entire world. I also remember my bestfriend Sonyah, she died for me too. She was my cousin, but knew and died for me. A vampire tried to get me; yet, another one of her minions. She also had the gene for becoming a wolf. She shape-shifted into a wolf and started to fight the vamp. I tried to run, but another vamp caught me she ran and tore into him like a piece of paper I kept running. I remember hearing whimpering and I was gonna turn around until I heard her voice "Run Alyssa keep running don't look back". I narrowed my eyes and kept running for her sake. I ran back home probably half a mile because we were on her ranch which was pretty far.

I hear a knock and looked up to see Travis

"Sis, don't beat your self over it" Travis said knowing I was thinking about Sami and Sonyah.

"How can I not? They died because of me" I replied.

"No, they died FOR you theres a difference"

"How? Explain it to me" I demanded.

"They vowed to keep you safe and have kept that vow. That is one reason you're going back home to La Push. Maybe it'll get Veronika off our backs or at least give us time to figure out a plan"

I scoffed "Yeah that'll be nice. This sucks"

Travis frowned "What going back home to the rez?"

"No, my life. I am this freakin' weirdo with weird powers. To the world I am "Miss Perfect" I have the "perfect" family, "perfect lifestyle, "perfect" boyfriend" and I am just all around so dam "perfect"" I said sarcastically. Travis comes up to me and gets on his knees so he is looking me in the eyes because I was sitting on my bed. He grabbed my wrists. "Lyss, you are special more than anyone will ever know. You are'nt weird or anything you are special and one day everyone will realize that and realize you aren't perfect and once everyone will thank you for saving the world because that's your destiny" Travis told me with a smile. I smiled back.

"No, they'll never know because I will get to Veronika before she can ever get far enough to get humans attention" Travis smiled knowing that's what our parents always used to tell me.

"That's my girl" We both laughed. My parents told me never expect for mankind to thank me for saving them because I am not to let Veronika get that far because if she does she already has half of me. I can't wait for this to be over. For one day to just worry about my singing career and not to worry about Veronika and running from her and training and trying to defeat her. I have never faced her like face to face but I have killed her minons Vampires, werewolfs and humans. She manipulates the humans because well they aren't suppose to know about us.

"So you ready?" Travis asked while standing up. I sighed

"I guess" I said as I got up. I grabbed one of my suitcases and Travis grabbed the other two.

"Dang what do you have in here?" He asked

"Dude, for one I am a girl, two I am going to La Push remember the weather is weird as heck there" I said and he laughed.

The ride to the airport was fun. We sang at the top of our longs to every song that came on of course I was on key, while Travis was not. Then one of my own songs came on "Change my life" (Originally by Little Mix)

I was going to change the station, but Travis stopped me

"Sing I want to hear" He said with smirk.

"Fine" I replied and started to sing. We got to the airport and Travis helped me with my luggage. We got to my gate and to be honest I was scared at the time, but I wouldn't let anyone know that.

"Lyss, don't be scared I know you are, I'll try and go up as soon as possible. I just have to make sure the area here and surrounding here is safe. I talked to Jake and he checked the area and said it's clear you will be safe his friends are shape shifters as well so you will be fine" He told me and kissed my forehead. I smiled and a tear slipped. I hugged him goodbye and walked to my gate. I waved until I couldn't see him through the crowd any longer. I got to my plane and boarded I got a window seat and looked out the window wishing my parents were alive, Samia nd Sonyah too, but especially wishing my life wasn't so screwed up. The plane started to take off.

"La Push here I come" I whispered.
